An 18-year-old man was arrested by the FBI on Friday on suspicion of a conspiracy to commit acts of terrorism against two government buildings in Arizona.
The man, Mahin Khan, was arrested after an investigation by the FBI joint terrorism task force, a spokesperson at the bureau’s field office in Phoenix told NBC News.
Attorney General’s Office spokesperson Mia Garcia told NBC News that Khan is suspected of conspiring to attack buildings in Phoenix and Tuscon.
“He’s been booked into the Maricopa County Jail on two counts, the first count is conspiracy to commit terrorism, and the second count is terrorism,” Garcia told Fox 10.
“Khan allegedly conspired to commit acts of terrorism on government buildings in Maricopa and Pima counties,” she said.
