A vitally important caveat: Russia and China are not the bad guys!

Peter Pry is right about everything else, but wrong about Russia and China. Both countries have had nuclear weapons for many decades. Had they wanted to destroy us in a suicidal attack, they could have done so long before now. Because neither country has the ideology or the intent to do so, they are not an existential threat to the US.

The real reason why neither Russia nor China is a danger to the US has to do with their ideologies and belief systems.

Russia, and its leadership, are Orthodox Christian. The Russian military posture is one of defense and deterrence. War, even in victory, has been a horrific experience for the Russian people. Russia is at war with no one and they intend to keep it that way. When it comes to post-Cold-War Russia, we, not the Russians, have been the aggressors. All of this talk of the Russian ‘threat’ proves American ignorance, arrogance and hypocrisy.

China is not an ideologically-driven nation. The primary concern of the Chinese people is manufacturing and trading to acquire wealth and resources. For China to destroy any of its major trading partners would make absolutely no sense whatsoever. In addition, Christianity is a growing force in China. In fact, it won’t be long before the Christian population of China becomes the largest in the world.
