One quibble: Shoshana Bryen contends that Assad used chlorine gas weapons on his enemies, when there is credible evidence that this was a false-flag attack. More to the point, and much more recently, Iraqi Kurds say Islamic State used chlorine gas against them. At this stage, the US has few options left other than to back the Kurds directly and to let the other chips fall where they may.

Screw the Kurds.
Kurds are still muslims.
Saladin himself was a Kurd.

@ Uncle Vladdi,

As I said, the US has pretty much run out of options, other than to play the Kurds against our other Muslim adversaries. We should never have gotten involved in this part of the world to begin with.
