Homosexual activists have forced a website to shut down an online crowdfunding campaign for a Christian couple facing a possible fine for declining to provide a wedding cake in 2013 for a same-sex “wedding.”

In less than eight hours, the GoFundMe page for Aaron and Melissa Klein – owners of “Sweet Cakes by Melissa” – had raised in excess of $109,000 to help them offset a damages award of $135,000 proposed Friday by the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries. In February, the Christian couple had been found guilty of violating the state’s “anti-discrimination” law.

But on Saturday – after receiving complaints from advocates for “gay rights” – GoFundMe pulled the page, claiming that specific campaign violated its own policy, which prohibits raising funds “in defense of formal charges of heinous crimes, including violent, hateful, or sexual acts.”
