Pay attention here: ISIS is pure evil and it affects YOU, wherever you may be.

We at 1389 Blog have been warning you that ISIS is a threat to the human race – past, present, and future.

First of all, read this:

ArtNet: ISIS Destroying The World’s Cultural Heritage One Site At A Time

As someone who appreciates art, architecture, historical sites and ancient cultural achievements from the past this news is very disturbing.

The above article talks about Iraq’s cultural heritage, but it doesn’t stop there, and it doesn’t look as though it will.

It is happening in what was once Assyria as well. Yes, that area known as “The Cradle of Civilization” – Mesopotamia:

AINA: ISIS Destroys 3000 Year-old Assyrian Artifacts in Syria

ISIS will do what the Taliban did to the Bamiyan Buddhas in Afghanistan.

Islam is a cult that excels at destruction. Not just people, which is tragic enough, but everything! And they are proud of it, and boast about it!

The NAZIS did the same. They looted an incredible amount of art from all over Europe.

These pieces were destined for Hitler’s Museum of the Thousand-Year Reich.

This, in spite of the fact that many countries went to enormous lengths to hide their treasures, and I mean real treasures.

The NAZIS took Michelangelo’s Bruges Madonna, the Jan van Eyck Altarpiece at Ghent, Vermeers, Klimts, Rembrandts, Picassos and so much more!

The Mona Lisa was hidden in a French château – thankfully.

In the movie “The Monuments Men” we get an idea of all this. Atlas of Wonders reveals The Monuments Men Filming Locations: Where the Nazis kept the looted art.

There is an excellent book, The Rape of Europa: The Fate of Europe’s Treasures in the Third Reich and the Second World War, along with a documentary (trailer here).

The rescue effort was an American initiative. (See: The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History.)

Most of us are aware that World War II was the most destructive war in history. We know of the horrific loss of life; we have seen images of the devastated European cities. Yet how many among us have walked through a majestic museum such as the Louvre, enjoyed the solitude and grandeur of a towering cathedral such as Chartres, or gazed upon a sublime painting such as Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper, and wondered, How did so many monuments and great works of art survive this war? Who were the people who saved them?

The major events of World War II Pearl Harbor, D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge have become as much a part of our collective conscience as the names of the books and films Band of Brothers, The Greatest Generation, Saving Private Ryan, Schindlers List and the writers, directors, and actors Ambrose, Brokaw, Spielberg, Hanks who brought these epic events and the heroism of that time to life for us once again.

But what if I told you there was a major story about World War II that hasnt been told, a significant story at the heart of the entire war effort, involving the most unlikely group youve never heard of? What if I told you there was a group of men on the front lines who quite literally saved the world as we know it; a group who didnt carry machine guns or drive tanks, who werent official statesmen; men who not only had the vision to understand the grave threat to the greatest cultural and artistic achievements of civilization but then joined the front lines to do something about it?

When the Germans finally realised they were going to lose WW2 they did what all savages do – they began to destroy as many treasures as they could and they succeeded in many instances, for example Raphael’s “Portrait of a Young Man”.

Raphael: Portrait of a Young Man
Raphael – one of the greatest artist the Renaissance gave us!

Art stolen and destroyed. Art that was part of western civilization’s collective culture.

Art the NAZIS had no right to, and naturally a lot of it was owned not only by countries but of course the European Jewish population.

Now we are seeing it all happen again. This is but another example of the despicable acts of the Islamic State!

It should not surprise us at all as Islam has a strong tie to NAZISM. Saddam Hussein’s Ba’ath Party was inspired by Hitler, so was Egypt’s former ruler,Nasser and let’s not forget the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem – the uncle of the Egyptian terrorist – Yasser Arafat.

In the movie “The Monuments Men” the character, Frank Stokes, played by George Clooney, says:

“You can wipe out an entire generation, you can burn their homes to the ground and somehow they’ll still find their way back. But if you destroy their history, you destroy their achievements and it’s as if they never existed. That’s what Hitler wants and that’s exactly what we are fighting for.”

This applies even more so today.

During WW2 we had strong leaders like Winston Churchill and Dwight Eisenhower who would never give up. Even the tyrant Stalin wouldn’t let Hitler win!

What does the West have today? Obama? Cameron? Hollande? Merkel? Spare us please!!!

There is way too much at stake: even more so than when the NAZIS were planning their Thousand-Year Reich.
