Dear Email Users,

When we found out about the censoring going on for Optimum and AOL users we sent this email to those users in our account.

But upon further review, I decided this is something everyone should know about. This Cloudmark company may well be doing this for many other email servers. And none of you will ever know.

Dear Optimum and AOL Email Users,

Over the past several years TPATH has had almost 3,000 signups from people using AOL and Optimum. Because of the conservative nature of our website and emailed updates, many times a friend or a family member of a liberal, signs them up for our updates. I suppose the thought process behind that is if they see some conservative values, they may begin to look at things differently. I’m not sure that would ever happen. But who knows, maybe.

As a result of that, often times we get requests to be removed from our list. And unless the request comes with nasty, vulgar language, the deletion is immediately taken care of. The others will also be deleted but a response may be in order, first.

As a result, when we send out the thousands and thousands of emails for an update, we always get a few “kickbacks”. We do our best to clear them from our list.

Recently, over a thousand of our last updates have been returned as spam. Since we don’t sell anything and never include any of the very few ads which are on our website in any email, spam is something TPATH never deals in. So as we investigated we found that 99% of the kicked back emails came from Optimum and AOL subscribers. Then upon further review we found that a company called “Cloudmark” was blocking the email.

It appears that both AOL and Optimum have hired this company and they have been given the authority over what emails you are allowed to receive.

In other words, Cloudmark censors your email. They decide what you can receive in your inbox. And you never know what has been censored.

As of this point we have not been able to find out what criteria they use to censor what you receive. But they are doing it everyday and you have no idea what you are not getting. It’s not clear if this Cloudmark company filters content or blocks certain email servers or both. But either way, this is an infringement on your right to receive information.

From what we can tell, Cloudmark has decided that Glenn Beck’s email service is spam. Or they may have been told it was spam or they just don’t like Glenn’s politics. Either way, this should not be allowed to stand.

Every email program has its own, very easy to use, filtering setting so the user can decide what he does and does not wish to receive. Apparently Optimum, AOL and Cloudmark seem to think they know best what you want and don’t even feel they need to tell you you are being censored.

This sounds like what Iran and China are doing.

I have fired up an old gmail account so I could warn you about this. If I tried to tell you via you would never see it.

Me Here….I got this e-mail from TPATH, the New Jersey TEA Party. I thought those here should know what AOL and Optimum are up to! More crap from the left for Conservatives to deal with!

About 3-4 days ago my AOL mail dropped dramatically. NO political campaign emails are getting through. It went from about 50 per day to zero. Looks like Cloudmark doesn’t approve of my party association.
