The ad shown below deeply offends ME.

No, NOT because the ad uses some politically incorrect words for various “diverse” groups, words that the left has bullied us into considering taboo.

I don’t give a rat’s patootie about something so trivial as politically incorrect vocabulary that might hurt some poor little crybaby’s feelings. Matter of fact, I hate crybabies.

Not Acceptable R-word PSA

I am very rarely tempted to indulge in a good rant. I’m as good at inflammatory rhetoric as anybody can be, but I normally deliver my invective with ice water in my veins.

Today will be an exception.

So here goes…

In the video above, the politically-correct thought police have just warned us that the word retarded is now taboo.

I don’t care whether the “Spread The Word To End The Word” campaign has a valid point or not – I am NOT having any self-appointed Gestapo telling me what I am allowed to think and to say, and that’s that!

What’s the result of all of this “diversity” guilt-tripping? Do you think it makes people like each other all of a sudden? No, it just creates an overpowering flood of pent-up rage in people who hate to be told what to do and what to think.

But very few people have the courage to tell the thought police where to go.

Who are the socially acceptable targets?

That flood of pent-up rage at being ordered to pay lip service to “diversity” has to go somewhere. There is always a group or two that are left out of the “diversity” mix on purpose, to provide a safety valve in the form of a socially acceptable target for demonization. Since the 1990s, the main targets in the US have been Slavs, with Russians and Serbs targeted in particular, and, of course, white people who live in the South. I end up in both categories, and whether anybody likes it or not, I am fighting back.

For more than two decades, the Serbian nation and people have been subjected to an unending parade of groundless accusations and truly unspeakable blood libels. As a direct result of those deliberate lies, Serbs have been thrown off their land, imprisoned, tortured, maimed, killed, and even butchered for their organs. Do you seriously expect me to care because somebody might call you a NAME?

If you, or your friends, cheered or dropped bombs when your government made war on my people, and if you still do nothing while one president after another persecutes and abuses my people – and yes, they are my people – don’t waste your time telling me why I should care about what anybody calls YOU.

How that video helps our ENEMIES

Every form of political correctness gives ammunition to the Muslim Brotherhood and its front groups, who are doing all they can to censor, and even to criminalize, any criticism of Islam or of Muslims.

Yoo-hoo, CAIR, you will NEVER shut me up! I am far from alone, you are our ENEMIES, and you are going DOWN!

Banning the words that identify stupidity

“Two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the universe.” – Albert Einstein

“The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.” – Albert Einstein

According to the video, we are to be condemned for using the word “retarded” to describe stupid behavior. Next, they’ll be telling us that we can’t even use the word “stupid” to describe stupid behavior. By stopping us from recognizing and putting a name to stupidity when we encounter it, these thought police would render us helpless to combat it. Shame on them for destroying the English language in their Orwellian attempt to eliminate the words and concepts that describe reality.

Do these bozos seriously think they can banish human stupidity and inadequacy simply by censoring the word retarded? The word came from the phrase mental retardation, which used to be the accepted term for what is now called developmental delay – which means the same thing anyway.

As soon as people start getting angry about the new term developmentally delayed, we’ll see yet another PSA telling us not to use it, and they’ll have to coin some other euphemism. Stupidity is a fact of life, it affects everybody, and the only difference is that some of us aren’t that way all of the time. If you can’t deal with that, then it’s easy to see which category YOU fit into!

If you voted for Obama in 2008 to prove you're not a racist, You'll have to vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you're not an idiot.
Click the above thumbnail for larger image.

Was that video meant to stop us from saying – or even realizing – how stupid Obama is?

We, the people of the United States, have a president, Barack Hussein Obama, who simply does not have, and never will have, the mental candlepower to function normally in the real world without 24×7 care on the part of various “handlers.” He can’t even call his dog without looking at a Teleprompter. We are not supposed to come out and say that he is mentally deficient, but in his case, it applies.

Oh, and by the way, why does Obama have such a big scar on his head?

Our badly-educated and media-manipulated voting public has elected a president who, for whatever reason, can’t think on his own. His handlers – all of them prominent leftists – have been with him from the beginning. They made sure that he had all of the funding and the outside help and “influence” that he needed to get through college and law school, but of course we don’t get to see his school transcripts or medical records. He has never served in the military, nor has he needed to support himself by doing any real work.

Those handlers chose Obama, not in spite of his deficiencies, but because of them. He was, and is, amenable to their control. He is too dense to comprehend that anything could be wrong with what they want him to do. He may be dimly aware that there is a difference between right and wrong, but he learned early on to prefer wrong. He makes gaffe after gaffe after gaffe, and he can just barely manage to read his Teleprompter aloud, but at least his handlers can be sure that he won’t go rogue all of a sudden.

It sure seems mighty suspicious to me that this ad is coming out just after there has been a spate of complaints, in the blogosphere and elsewhere, that this president is anything but the genius that his media shills made him out to be.

I would call Obama and his handlers what they are, but no language in the world has words bad enough to describe them.

And that’s that.

I’m only offended by those who are easily offended.

I quit using the term “retarded” or “tard” a while back. I have friends that have children that either have Down’s syndrome or other neurological disorders, and the love they have for their children is boundless. I also recall Pope John Paul having an affinity for Down’s syndrome children.
I don’t use the word or its derivatives because I choose not to. Neither do I ask others not to.
However, I now replace the term “tards” with “turds,” I.e.-“lefturd.”

2 1389 June 25, 2011 at 7:21 pm

When I talk about medical conditions, I tend to use the actual diagnosis, as far as I am aware of it. I just get upset about the constant politically-correct demands that we have to sugar-coat everything – except for the fact that those who vilify people like me get a free pass.

The next thing that I am going to say will likely surprise a lot of people.

I refer to myself as brain damaged, because it is true. I will not use some other term for it, even though it upsets my stepdaughter when I say it. Some years back, I was in a car accident (hit by a semi), followed by brain surgery (Chiari decompression and repair of cervical stenosis). For several months, I had practically no short-term memory at all. I still struggle with poor memory and coordination issues. It’s a lot better than it was, but it’s still a problem. There are a lot of things that I am never going to be able to do, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.

I don’t usually call leftists stupid, unless there is specific evidence to that effect (as there is in the case of Obama), because calling them stupid may be seen as excusing them from having freely embraced evil. I believe in free will, even for people who aren’t geniuses, and I refuse to let leftists off the hook.

As the parent of an 11 yr old daughter who is Down Syndrome I can tell you I have studied this word, its concept, and its concept and context in society in general.

I can say after 11 years and 4 months of observing my daughter, and observing society, my daughter is not retarded … Society is retarded. Nobody I have experienced in my life, and hers, has shown more compassion, understanding, and common sense than my daughter. The rest of society and the world could learn from my daughter … if they weren’t so mentally retarded.

Bear in mind, society and the world in general seek to make themselves appear not-retarded by ripping these children from the womb before they can be born and show them for the retarded fools that they are. Every once in awhile, as in my case, one slips through enemy lines and is able to get the truth out.

4 1389 June 25, 2011 at 7:49 pm

I am infertile myself, so I don’t have the experience of giving birth to anyone. That said, I am opposed to aborting unborn children for any reason.

I am also opposed to the Obama Administration’s rationing of health care to the elderly, with the stealth implementation of “death panels” that will be sure to follow. Both my grandmothers died after long periods of senile dementia. One of them reportedly committed suicide, but given the fact that I was but three years old at the time, I cannot be sure about what actually took place.

Having suffered from severe and sometimes exceedingly painful neurological impairments myself, I will say that any form of neurological impairment is tragic for everyone involved. That does not mean that we cannot love people who have such impairments, only that it would be far easier for everyone if such were not the case.

Bravissimo, 1389!!!! You’re so completely correct about this new Communism that is infesting us with this “political correctness” and I hate it at least every bit as much as you!

Those Commies (also Nazis!) would do perfectly well to emigrate to their paradise in North Korea!

6 Abélard June 25, 2011 at 7:55 pm

In fact, why should it be unacceptable to call somebody a “native”? [I thought the bad word was “nigger” – which comes from “Negro” which means “black” in Spanish and perhaps Portuguese (even Latin?).] What happened with the US. First Amendment??

7 Hesperado June 25, 2011 at 7:56 pm

The word “retarded” literally means “slow” (in classical music, a common direction in musical notes for players is the Italian spelling, “ritard” — a direction for them to play slowly).

I’m with 1389, and I’ll see her ante and raise her: All children with brain problems, whether Down’s syndrome or any other, are RETARDED: they are slower than normal children in certain respects.

Secondly, it’s perfectly fine to use the word “retarded” as a slur against people who should have normal brain and mind function, but whose decisions and opinions reflect some kind of impairment due to ideology; and to be hyper-sensitive about this use of the same word as a slur for brainless ideologues, and for children with brain problems is just plain… retarded.

Grow the hell up and grow some balls, or your brain-damaged children will grow up philosophically damaged as well.

In a related vein, the oh-so politically correct film directors/writers the Farrelly Brothers, who have made millions making movies filled with gross jokes, made a big deal in their 2003 movie about twins joined at the side (“Stuck on You” played by Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear) that the condition should not be called “Siamese Twins” but rather “Conjoined”. What a crock of PC shit — as though the word “Siamese” somehow denigrates someone (and, of course, “Mongoloid” will get you ostracized from polite company as well).

8 1389 June 25, 2011 at 8:13 pm

Abélard,

Yes, it’s just a word for a color. In a restaurant where the waitstaff speaks Spanish, I order “café negro” because I don’t want them to bother bringing cream that I won’t be using.

As I said, I had neurological problems even in childhood (motor issues). In other words, I was clumsy and I had problems with muscle cramping. Still do. People used to call me a “spaz.” So what, it’s true.

Message to talented young people: Rather than worrying about vocabulary, if you want to do something good, go to med school and go into research and work on coming up with better treatments for the mental and physical disabilities that the human race falls prey to. How about working on finding a way that we can regrow our own joint cartilage so that we old people don’t have to get metal knee and hip replacements? And help with the muscle cramping and pain that some of us with neurological impairments face every day?

9 Zenster June 25, 2011 at 8:32 pm

The Left has always pretended to fight narrow-mindedness. Yet, once again, they are at it attempting to narrow down our vocabulary. The narrower our vocabulary, the narrower our minds.

Just as the serpent devours itself tail first, we now see the Left encouraging narrow-mindedness.

10 Blogwrath June 25, 2011 at 9:11 pm

1389, great point! According to the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, the words in our language are always descriptive and refer to facts, although an idea about a fact from one person’s point of view might be different from another’s.

I am not sure what your opinion about Howard Stern is, but over 10 years ago his show was broadcasted in Canada. That was a breath of fresh air in the darkness of political correctness that overwhelmed 1990’s (since there was no Internet, it looked like the Toronto Star point of view dominated the country).

Anyway, one of Stern’s “Wack Pack” characters was Garry the Retard, who was really retarded in the traditional psychiatric sense of the term. Nevertheless, he was a very nice and amicable person and Stern never treated him in a less disrespectful way than anybody else in the show.

Yet he got bashed by the PC idiots all the time – and they are the real retards. Finally, they found a way to ban him from the Canadian radio stations.

Now we are stuck with the Human Rights Commission, which considers freedom of speech an American concept (that’s an officially expressed opinion).

11 1389 June 25, 2011 at 9:20 pm

As I just mentioned on Blazing Cat Fur’s blog, the next thing we all need to campaign for is to put an end to “human rights commissions” – not only in Canada, but everywhere.

The US still has the First Amendment to protect freedom of speech.

We also have the Second Amendment to back it up.

Tyrants fear an armed citizenry. So do enemy invaders.

I’m not a US chauvinist, so to speak, but I do think that any country where the people genuinely want to be free, should take a look at how to implement guarantees of freedom of speech, along with the right to bear arms, into their own legal systems.

12 Dymphna June 25, 2011 at 10:02 pm

We have a 1st Amendment…for the moment. And in certain cases, it can be removed arbitrarily. They’re just being pre-emptive for our own good, you see.

In the near future, we’ll have free speech when we have the money to back it up because some cynical sleazeball will sue for “hurt feelings”.

I’m nutz, too, 1389. Chemo left me with little short-term memory; fibromyalgia took a great deal of what remained. I have no dependable energy; fatigue is my very best friend, whether I want it or not.

You know what these whiners and whingers are raised on? Feeling sorry for the Underdog.

“Underdogma” — google it. If you can afford the book, I recommend the little I saw of it.

The Underdog is always the champion. No virtue needed.

13 William Dorich June 25, 2011 at 10:08 pm

In August, 1993, in just one appearance on CNN, Senator Joseph Biden in a ten minute interview referred to the Serbian people as: Illiterates, degenerates, baby killers, rapists, butchers, guerrillas and cowards. Imagine, this “retard” and racists is now our Vice President?

Serbs have been so well demonized by the media and our own State Department that the very word Serb has become synonymous with evil. During the entire decade of the 1990s Serbs were so successfully muzzled by the major media… that not a single article appeared in the New York Time, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune or the Washington Post that was written by a Serbian journalist, author, scholar or political leader. Serbs were also persona-non-grata at the Foreign Relations Committee, the State Department, the Pentagon, Congress and the Senate. And you have moron on here worried about calling someone a “retard”? Well the term sure fits the vast majority of elected official that had anything to do with the genocide of my people and the destruction of over 400 Serbian Orthodox Christian churches including 152 in Kosovo razed after the war ended, right under the noses of 17,000 NATO troops. In March, 2004 nearly 35 Serbian churches were razed in 4 days of Albanian violence that most American media simply ignored.

PC has run a muck and NATO needs to be destroyed. So too should we destroy the morons and the “retards” who violated the UN Charter, the NATO Treaty, The Helsinki Final Act by violating the rights of the Serbian people, including the violation of UN Resolution 1244 that guaranteed Kosovo would remain Serbian territory before those Serbs signed the peace agreement only to have Washington “Retards” ignore international laws to serve their our hidden agenda.

We illegally bombed the Serbian nation doing over $68 billion in damage to the infrastructure of Serbia, we destroyed their manufacturing base that had nothing to do with war like 380 schools, 140 chicken farms, 78 dairies, 185 agriculture companies, clothing and auto manufacturing that destroyed the jobs of over 40% of the Serbian population. We bombed entire Serbian villages destroying as many as 450 home at a time in what was latter called “bombing errors”… like the Chinese Embassy, the bombing of passenger trains, the bombing of 11 nursing homes and 14 hospitals killing 26 people, both with the red cross clearly painted on their roofs.

Serbian civilians were the targets of Gen. Wesley Clarke who resorted to using illegal cluster bombs on civilian populations in Serbia. He should be standing in the dock at The Hague. The “Moron” General polluted the Danube River for nearly 2,000 miles through 11 countries, surely a crime against humanity and he destroyed the water table in Serbia that has caused a cancer rate increase of 4,000% over 1980s figures. Birth defects in Serbia are nearly 3,000% over previous decades. And you idiots on here are worried about political correct labels? Get a life.

Today, a decade after the end of the war in the Balkans there are 1.2 million Serbian refugees… that number is TWICE THE COMBINED NUMBER of Croat, Muslim and Albanian refugees, so it is rather obvious who was expert at ethnic cleansing.

Former Yugoslavia was dismembered into 7 countries and Serbia has lost over 37% of her territory. Pretending that its OK to demonize an entire race of people by collective guilt has not occurred since Adolf Hitler. Shame on those of you who totally ignore attacks on the Serbs and now demand that people ad hear to your stupid PC crap that is so out of proportion to the racism and bigotry that was visited on my people that I think you are nuts… no, I think you are “retards.”

14 1389 June 25, 2011 at 10:44 pm

I’m glad you understand exactly where I’m coming from. I remember, during the 1999 bombing, when Serbian women were told to have abortions because their unborn children would be poisoned by the environmental pollution. It made me sick to hear that.

I am most likely going to have to spend the rest of my life trying to get some sort of justice for the Serbs.

Usually, I put dashes in the middle of cuss words in people’s comments. This is to avoid having those automatic “content filtering” or “censorware” services blacklisting this blog and keeping people from seeing it. But this time around, I’m just letting all the comments go through “as is” – whether anybody agrees with me or not. If this blog gets filtered out somewhere, I’ll just have to deal with it later. We need free and vigorous debate here.

15 1389 June 25, 2011 at 11:58 pm

I’m not familiar with John Simon and haven’t seen his blog. Unfortunately, a lot of Serbs in the diaspora (meaning those Serbs who left the former Yugoslavia before the 1990s, and their descendants) have lost touch with their own people and don’t know what is going on there. In that case, it is too easy to believe that there must have been some basis for the accusations in the media, even when no evidence is provided.

In my case, all of my relatives in Europe disappeared during the Second World War. One of my father’s cousins went back to Vojvodina in Serbia some time after the war to try to find them, and all traces of them had been wiped out. There is nothing new about ethnic cleansing. Just look at Mr. Dorich’s comment above; there are not a whole lot of Serbs around any more. It’s simple arithmetic; it is both physically and logically impossible that Serbs could have been the ones doing ethnic cleansing, given that there are so few of us left.

16 Hesperado June 25, 2011 at 11:20 pm

As much as I admire the film critic John Simon (a Serbian-American known for being notoriously politically INcorrect about many subjects) and a man of great intellect who knows several languages, a recent blog entry on his new blog mentioned the epithet of Mladic as an “ethnic cleanser”, without any qualification or irony. When I suggested to him that he read Julia Gorin, he told me he didn’t know who she was. I gave him a link to her recent article on Mladic, but he has given no indication that he bothered to read it.

17 Hesperado June 26, 2011 at 12:19 am

When you’re fighting Satanic maniacs Hell-bent on ravaging and destroying your society, your tactics will naturally at times by sheer necessity of self-defense resemble “ethnic cleansing”. After all, what the Allies had to do to Hitler and Hirohito and to the German and Japanese people in WW2 could easily be labeled “ethnic cleansing” — when someone neglects to fill in all the necessary details that made them tragically unavoidable.

The analogy would be a group of maniacs with knives who attack, mutilate, torture, rape and murder a woman’s husband and three daughters — then proceed to attack her, yet somehow through sheer luck and determination and intelligence she is able to save herself by

1) pushing one into a bathtub and throwing in a radio, electrocuting him;

2) hitting another over the head and putting his hand in the garbage disposal until he screams and dies of blood loss;

3) gouging out the eyes of another;

4) and other horrible but necessary acts of self-defense and revenge.

If someone described the result of this horror only in terms of the violence she did while leaving out the fact that they were maniacs who attacked her first and were bent on raping, mutilating, torturing and murdering her as they had already done to her family — we’d begin to approximate the grotesquely obscene distortion of the Serbian-Muslim conflicts.

18 Hesperado June 26, 2011 at 12:26 am

(That analogy from my previous post was inspired by the horror movie “The Last House on the Left”, 2009 version.)

19 When Pigs Fly June 26, 2011 at 5:44 pm

This vocabulary gestapo is simply the leftards trying to control what you say & how you think and toeing THEIR political line. I don’t & won’t submit to anything they want unless it pleases me. Lan Astalem!

20 Always On Watch June 28, 2011 at 5:29 am

I’m late getting here — sick cats. **sigh**

Anyway, you are so correct that we live in Orwellian days as the “word and thought police” are on the prowl.

Over two decades ago, the black parent of one of the students in first grade in a private school had fits over the word “dumb” being on the spelling list. This parent said that the word “dumb” is racist. Go figure.

The “word and thought police” have been working out there for a long, long time. Now we’re starting to see the fruits of their efforts. 👿

21 1389 June 29, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Maybe he is Hungarian. That wouldn’t surprise me. My ancestors are Serbs from Vojvodina, and as I have already mentioned, my relatives in Europe are nowhere to be found. The Hungarian and Croatian Nazis did a thorough job of exterminating Serbs.

Not much has changed. As Julia Gorin points out, it seems redundant for the Croats and Hungarians to have fascist parties. But they do.

22 1389 June 30, 2011 at 7:58 pm

Grounzero,

I was unaware that he had claimed to be a Serb in a book and then changed his mind after it was no longer “cool” to be a Serb. Some Serbs in Vojvodina may have partly Hungarian ancestry, and some Serbs from Vojvodina speak both Serbian and Hungarian (my grandfather was one who did).

That having been said, I am part Serb and part Italian by ancestry. My husband and my stepdaughter and I are members of the Orthodox Christian Church and I consider myself to be a Serbian-American. That’s what I tell people I am. I don’t care whether anybody likes it or not!

The very fact that it is NOT considered “cool” to be a Serb makes it all the more important to speak up for my people and to honor and remember their traditions.

23 Mark September 6, 2011 at 2:26 pm

I found your topic to be near and dear to my heart. I’m a cripple thanks to MS and I do my best to USE the word “cripple” as often as possible. I’ve been chewed out a number of times by various folks…no matter their politics. I do so love to drive the fact that the word is completely and unadulteratedly HONEST. I, however, do not call others “crippled”.

I am a proud cripple! Hell, I still played 27 holes of golf over the long weekend  … not well, mind you, but I still played! And only fell a few dozen times too 😉 (yes, followed your link from PJM today)

“Everybody gets upset when I say Niger”!

I am serious – but after my experience with a brand of Finch food (bird seed) I would concur that ‘dumb is in charge’!

I had been buying a particular brand of African Finch food for years – it’s from a special area of Africa famous for a valley rich in minerals that allow wonderful crops to be grown – it is called the Niger Valley!

The purveyors of this specialty bird food labeled their boxes of seed – ‘NIGER SEED – A FEAST FOR FINCHES’ – rather a plain label with the words printed in black ink over a colored photo of a group of Finches.

I inquired as to why the store didn’t carry the seed anymore after my third visit – explaining to the owner that my birds really wanted the stuff.

I got a ‘sorry’ and then another story as to where our country has gone.

The seed people were hauled into court over the advertising on the label and the company was in the process of coming out with new ‘approved verbiage’. No s*** – ‘Niger was taken as a racial slur !”

25 1389 September 6, 2011 at 6:23 pm

Kudos to you, both for your honesty, and for getting out and playing golf as well as you can! The exercise, the companionship, and the opportunity to be outdoors make it worthwhile even if you don’t expect to win!

26 1389 September 6, 2011 at 6:26 pm

I wonder who hauled the bird seed company into court. It’d be interesting to find out.
