1389 received another insulting e-mail from SonicWall:

Dear Customer:

You submitted the following rating request to SonicWALL CFS Support: Rate jihadwatch.org as “33.News and Media” at 2007-09-06 07:25:00.577

The request has been reviewed and rated as: “1.Violence/Hate/Racism” at 2007-09-06 09:28:05.920

You should see this rating change reflected within 1 to 3 business days.

Thank you for your request,

SonicWALL CFS Support

In other words, Sonic Wall has refused to change the current rating of Jihad Watch.

Go and take a look at Jihad Watch, assuming you can still get there from your computer! If you do, you’ll see a site completely devoid of racism. Using dignified language, it presents news and analysis on the topic of jihadism, with plenty of evidence and references, and without hyperbole or sensationalism. It’s a whistle-clean site, quite harmless even if seen by an elementary school child, although it is unlikely someone that age would understand the scholarly language.

What could SonicWALL possibly be thinking?

Did they even look at Jihad Watch at all? Or does SonicWALL imagine that they have the right to censor any news items they please, on the pretext that they recount incidents that involve hatred and violence? In that regard, the problem is with the jihadists, not with Jihad Watch!

Now what?

SonicWall refused to apply the rating “News and Media,” which I believe would have been accurate, in that Jihad Watch specializes in covering news regarding incidents of jihadist coercion and violence that are given meager coverage in the mainstream media.

Instead, I suggest you use this form to contact SonicWALL and tell them to reclassify Jihad Watch as “political advocacy.”

If that doesn’t work, then the next step is to find out exactly who is pulling the strings in these big multinational vendors of censorware…and why they are working so hard to keep Americans in the dark! “Follow the money…”

You can keep living in your world of good/evil, where “we” (westerners, christians) are, of course, good. However, if you want to live in reality, you must leave your xenophobia behind. For those who don’t know:
“As with all phobias, a xenophobic person is aware of the fear, and therefore has to believe at some level that the target is in fact a foreigner.” (in Wikipedia) Maybe it shouldn’t be rated as racism but, to my eyes, it is for sure xenophobic.

PP, “xenophobic” is an inaccurate and insulting description of Jihad Watch. Had you been reading that blog for any length of time, you would have known that Jihad Watch reports news items about jihadist activities. Robert Spencer is a brave man and it is an unwarranted insult for you to call him “phobic” about anything.

Moreover, “xenophobia” means “fear of strangers” – based on ignorance – while Robert Spencer’s statements about Islam, its doctrines, and its adherents, are based on his comprehensive knowledge of those topics.

But that’s not the point. The point is that, whether you agree with it or not, this is political speech. In what is supposedly a free society, there is no justification for censoring it.

Why you’re absolutely correct — if I linked to a site called “JewWatch” that details the crimes of Jews, posting any news story anywhere that shows a Jew committing a crime, I guess according to your logic I’m not linking to a racist site. Heil! And I suppose a site called NegroWatch wouldn’t be racist either, because after all, those darkies did commit all those crimes, all NegroWatch is doing is collecting the news reports all in one place. Nosiree, no racism there, no sir . And a site that posts only news stories that show Muslims committing a crime is somehow different than linking to a site that details the crimes of Jews or blacks because, well, just because. Alrighty, then! Glad you cleared that up!

Badtux, I am perfectly aware that there are good and bad people everywhere, and that it’s easy enough to find evildoers in any part of the world, including the blogosphere. But that is NOT what we are talking about here! There is a good reason why the other site is called “JIHAD Watch” and not “Muslim Watch.” This distinction is important, because the site publicizes wrongdoing perpetrated on behalf of Islamist expansionism in general and jihad in particular, not ordinary, run-of-the-mill criminal offenses that happen to have been committed by Muslims.

JihadWatch is extremely xenophobic. All it’s quotations are interpreted as the terrorist understand them. This further enhances that JihadWatch is “narrow” minded.

Example:

Prophet mohammed married khadija when she was young…
Do you guys know as “non-muslims” what marriage is in Islam?! It’s not the sex and physical limitations Westerners have made it to be. This act is rare and symbolic in marriage life, as it results in “children”, oh the countless orphans in the “western countries”. He didn’t touch her until she came of age.

Its true that many many! things are happening in the Muslim world that are unacceptable by Islamic standards but don’t mix the religion and the people claiming to practice it!
