Here we go again…
The jihadi-collaborators in the Netherlands are using the kangaroo-court judicial system in an attempt to silence the heroic Geert Wilders.

M-446 Introduced to Protect Free Speech!
This private motion will remove the power of the Canadian HRCs to interfere with freedom of expression in Canada. They will no longer be in a position to abuse their power to muzzle journalists, researchers, and bloggers, such as Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn.
Greetings everyone,
Some time ago, you were concerned enough to sign the petition against the Human Rights Commissions which are currently attacking Canadian citizens’ right to free speech. I encourage you to keep reminding your friends, family, and acquaintances to sign the petition. It is imperative that we remain vigilent in the protection of our inalienable rights as free-born Canadians.
As you may or may not know, there has been a private members’ motion to gut the most objectionable section of the Canadian Human Rights Act.
The purpose of this email is to encourage you to e-mail Dr. Keith Martin, M.P., the author of the motion, and thank him for coming to our defense at a critical time in our nation’s history. It is also imperative that you WRITE A LETTER (not e-mail) to your local M.P. and M.P.P., expressing your firm objection to the attacks of the HRCs on free speech. Please also consider writing two more letters: to Rob Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Your time and the cost of a few stamps are what is required at this time to keep the pressure on.
Free speech may be free but its protection is not.
Best regards,
John Pacheco

PS: I have appended a small sample of the comments collected so far:
I am appalled that my freedoms have come down to this. My father fought in the second world war. I have many times witnessed him reminding people that thank him for his service, “you have lost more freedoms than before I went to fight.” Today these words sadly have more meaning than ever. How sad that we are letting our country down but more importantly our veterans down with these deplorable HR Commissions.
The Human Rights Commissions, as exemplified recently in Canda, are acting as a form of mind control against innocent media agents. This curtails 600 years of common law and human rights, rather than defending human rights.
The guy with the biggest mouth wins? Wrong. As is, there is no freedom in Canada, and in fact, North America. “Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.” – Benjamin Franklin
Animal Farm is upon us. What is black may not be called black as it may offend someone; rather it must be called white. To allow the politics of feelings to supersede rational arguments in public discourse is an amazingly regressive turn-around at this late stage of human evolution.
As the ligature of censorship pulls tighter and tighter around freedom of speech I am becoming not only ashamed but also fearful of the country in which I grew up, a country of which I was once immensely proud. What a sad commentary.
Born and raised under a communist regime, I’m very sensitive to the issue of free speech. People of Canada, free speech is the most precious asset! Hold it close to your chest, cherish it, fight for it!
Born in the Netherlands, I am following the political/religious climate in Europe with great interest. From what I have learned over the years via newspapers, family and friends, as well as books such “Infidel” by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, one only comes to realize the need to be very, very concerned about official responses to the extreme sensitivity of a vast growing Muslim population easily fired up by its leaders. How Canada should learn from the mistakes Europe has made and now greatly regrets.
Canada now resembles to me the communist country from where I escaped 25 years ago! I only wish that the Canadians who value true freedom would finally wake up and fight back before it’s too late!!
D***ed it! Did I immigrate to China from China?? If not for freedom, I should stay there to make much more money as successful engineering contractor, rather than beginning everything from zero here in Canada. I`ll try to move to the States if freedom is not available here!
First rate Canadians have died for these basic democratic rights, why are second rate institutions being allowed to take them away from us?
Freedom is the only thing that can hold this country together. Victimary politics is no longer intellectually or socially productive, if it once was. Politicians should catch up with our real intellectual and cultural leaders.
Free Canadians are not oppressive in any serious way. Governments must help preserve Canadians’ freedom, and not shun democratic responsibilities by deferring to phony courts and victim religions. Reform the HRCs for real apolitical victims, not Gnostic thought crimes.
How can it be that I find myself uneasy filling out this petition, for fear that someone will come after me. Truly freedom to speak has been lost in this country. But I force myself to sign, knowing that if we don’t fight now, our children may not have a chance for the same freedoms we take for granted. For my children.
HRC existence and activities remainds me the time when I lived in communist Poland.
I am floored by how the Human Rights Commission is encroaching upon the very thing they are there to protect. Human Rights. I personally know an employee who told me of the demographics of the employees of the Human Rights Commission, and their political leanings. The HRC is anything but representative of the demographic and diversity of Canada.
There is a disproportionate of same sex oriented employees, a disproportionate number of anti Christian, secular fundamentalists.
I am old enough that I probably won’t experience full force the negative effects of the abuses by the CHRC but my children and grandchildren will. It concerns me deeply to see the way our country is going down the tubes.
I am tired of all the power hungry human rights bleeding hearts. It is time we take Canada back to where we were free to be Canadians and not something else.
I generally do not sign petitions of any kind, but I feel compelled to in this case by the outrage of various HRCs harrassing and penalizing free-born Canadians for expressing their opinions — whether controversial or otherwise. I implore Prime Minister Harper to come down strongly on the side of freedom of conscience and of speech.
I lived my youth in the wrong side of the Iron Curtain. I do hope I won’t have to live my adulthood in wrong side again.
I love Canada’s historic defence of freedom. Please, do not shame that history and the sacrifice of so many Canadians with this attack on free speech. – An American citizen.
Kangaroo courts are for loser countries.
Keep free speech, FREE.
Mark Steyn tells the uncomfortable truth and you want to silence him? You should be ashamed of yourselves. Pandering to the Islamics only strengthens their resolve to Islamise Canada. You should be siding Mark Steyn, not seeking to silence him.
Mr. Prime Minister, Our party must guarantee elimination of the HRC’s in the next election, restore free speach, and stop the multicultural decay of Canada. We need our party to stand up for our freedoms of expression and get back to traditional Canadian values. We need a party that will do everything in it’s power to eliminate the threat from the socialists and communsts who continue to deprive Canadians of free speach, and eliminate our traditional Canadian values.
My family came from England to Nova Scotia in the 1860s. Part of us moved to the US – the remainder stayed in Canada. I visit my relatives in Edmonton every year. We are ALL HORRIFIED at the dhimmification of Canada. This persecution of Mark is beyond the pale. Will Canadians please COME TO THEIR SENSES and stop this total nonsense. Freedom of speech is not a catchphrase. PROTECT IT.
My family has been in Canada since 1790. I hope that my posterity will be able to enjoy as free and good a country as my ancestors have.
My forefathers fought in Canada’s wars in defense of tyranny. These HRC’s are a repugnant affront to the sacrifices that these men and other Canadians made to protect our values and way of life. It’s time to shrug off the yoke of political correctness and abolish or severely limit the ridiculous mandate given to the HRC’s. I do not recognize their legality nor accept their presence in our society.
My opinions are my own, made of my own free will. Nobody shall hold any power over me. These freedoms were hard won by members of my family in every conflict this country has faced since before Confederation, and I shall not betray that trust. I will be a free man, and I shall teach my children to be free as well, in thought as well as in action. Only cowards gang up on an ideal they find inconvenient to live up to.
My parents came to this country to escape a totalitarian regime. HRC’s are as bad as any kangaroo court in the former USSR and should be eliminated immediately. Any politicians that were responsible for their creation should be brought up on criminal charges.
My Private Member’s Bill 208 (2006) in the Alberta Legislature was intended to protect the rights of Canadians to publicly criticize and disagree with government policies–in this case, same-sex marriage–without fear of being hauled before the Alberta human rights commission.

Update:
Another blogosphere victory – keep the pressure on!
KABUL, Afghanistan, Feb. 6 (UPI) — A student journalist convicted of violating Islamic law in Afghanistan may escape the death penalty, a senior official in the Afghan government said.
An Afghan court found Sayed Pervez Kambaksh guilty of violating Islamic law for distributing information regarding women’s rights. Afghan law holds violations of Islamic law a federal offense and a court imposed a death penalty.
The Independent Wednesday quoted Najib Manalai with the Afghanistan Culture Ministry saying of the case, “I am not worried for his life. I’m sure Afghanistan’s justice system will find the best way to avoid this sentence.”

Mounting criticism of young journalist’s death sentence

**Updates IFEX alerts of 23, 17 and 15 January 2008**
(RSF/IFEX) – Reporters Without Borders has appealed to President Hamid Karzai, currently attending the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos, to quickly respond to the many appeals for clemency for Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh, the young journalist who has been sentenced to death by a court in Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of the northern province of Balkh.
“Kambakhsh’s death sentence was the outcome of an unfair trial orchestrated by local officials and extremist religious leaders,” the organisation said. “We urge President Karzai to take a swift and clear decision in this case, which threatens press freedom in his country.”
A petition for Kambakhsh’s release can be signed on the Reporters Without Borders website at: http://www.rsf.org/article.php3?id_article=25199
The United Nations, many European countries and the European parliament’s president have all condemned Kambakhsh’s arrest and death sentence.
Balkh provincial state prosecutor Hafizullah Khaliqyar has nonetheless dismissed the charges that the court violated human rights and press freedom, insisting that the verdict was given “in accordance with Islam’s values.”
The case is now supposed to go before an appeal court, but Balkh provincial judge Fazel Wahab said “only President Hamid Karzai is in a position to pardon Kambakhsh because he confessed to his crime.”
Sayed Yaqub Ibrahimi, Kambakhsh’s brother, said the verdict was “unjust.” Kambakhsh was not represented by a lawyer and was forbidden to defend himself. It appears that Ibrahimi is the real target in this case. A respected journalist who has covered the political situation in the north for International War and Peace Reporting, an NGO, he has been getting death threats for months from the henchmen of local officials and the security forces have searched his home several times, warning him of more reprisals to come.
The culture and information ministry said it had no authority over the case because “neither Kambakhsh’s arrest nor conviction was linked to his journalistic activities” and therefore “it is not a press freedom violation.” The ministry nonetheless added that it was “confident that the Afghan judicial system will handle the issue of the death penalty with the utmost care and will render justice, especially as the lower court’s sentence is not final.”
Rahimullah Samandar, the head of the Afghanistan Independent Journalists Association, firmly condemned the trial and verdict on the grounds that they violated the constitutional rights to a legal defence and to free speech. He vowed to appeal to national and international courts, and called on President Karzai to overturn the verdict.
The French foreign ministry has expressed outrage at the verdict. “France stresses that it is completely opposed to the death penalty,” the ministry said. “Freedom of expression must be guaranteed, respecting the principles and values enshrined in the Afghan constitution.”
The president of the European parliament called on the Afghan authorities on 18 January 2008 to release Kambakhsh.

Save Sayed Kambakhsh
Sentenced to death for reading about women’s rights
A young man, a student of journalism, is sentenced to death by an Islamic court for downloading a report from the internet. The sentence is then upheld by the country’s rulers. This is Afghanistan – not in Taliban times but six years after “liberation” and under the democratic rule of the West’s ally Hamid Karzai.
The fate of Sayed Pervez Kambaksh has led to domestic and international protests, and deepening concern about erosion of civil liberties in Afghanistan. He was accused of blasphemy after he downloaded a report from a Farsi website which stated that Muslim fundamentalists who claimed the Koran justified the oppression of women had misrepresented the views of the prophet Mohamed.
That is terrible. We need to support Sayed Kambaksh – it is unthinkable that he should be executed merely for reading something.
Please sign the Independent petition for his release.

Petition for Afghan Journalist Perwiz Kambakhsh (Bumped)
Updated/Bumped 02/01/08: Come on now. Only 154 200 sigs [as of 12:30pm CST 2/1/08] and we’re the only blog running this? A man’s life hangs in the balance.
So sign the petition.
Call your public officials. Write about it.
Thanks to all those who have already signed or ran the petition. To the rest of you, Get with it people!
Who Is Perwiz Kambaksh?
Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh has been sentenced to death by the moderate regime in Afghanistan for blasphemy.
The Afghan Senate has just endorsed his death sentence.
Via AFP: KABUL (AFP) — Afghanistan’s senate has endorsed a death sentence handed down by a court to a reporter and journalism student accused of blasphemy, the parliament media office said.
The senate, called the Meshrano Jirga (House of Elders), issued a statement Tuesday backing last week’s decision by the Balkh province primary court and criticising international pressure over the case, an official told AFP.
The court sentenced Perwiz Kambakhsh, 23, to death for distributing articles downloaded from the Internet that were said to question the Koran and the role of women in Islam.
“The Meshrano Jirga endorses the Balkh primary court’s verdict on sentencing to death Sayed Perwiz Kambakhsh who has been sentenced over insulting Islam and misinterpretation of Koran verses,” said the statement read to AFP.
The house also “strongly criticises those domestic and international organisations which are pressurising Afghanistan’s government and legal authorities when pursuing such people,” it said.
Remember, death sentences are often carried out very quickly in these countries. So time is very short and its critical that we act as quickly as possible. There are only a few legal steps left before he is executed
The death sentence must pass through various higher courts and be approved by Karzai, who has been called on by international and Afghan media rights organisations to intervene in the case.
The extremist Taliban movement that is waging an insurgency against Karzai’s administration has also called for “severe punishment” for Kambakhsh, whom they called the “new Salman Rushdie”….
A petition to try and help Mr. Kambakhsh has been started here. Please sign it and spread it as far as you can. Hopefully we can help get Mr. Kambakhsh a pardon or a reduced sentence.
Never mind the absolute idiocy of allowing Afghanistan to enact a constitution based on Sharia law. If our soldiers fought and died to liberate Afghanistan we should have required they enact a better constitution like we did with Japan. I’ve been very disappointed with the new constitutions for both Iraq and Afghanistan.
More on that here.

What You Can Do:
Friends,
I have been anxiously following the travails of courageous author Rachel Ehrenfeld, who dared to expose the Saudi connection to terrorist funding, and has since been hit with one frivolous and ridiculous lawsuit after another. From personal experience, I can tell you that this is the way that fanatics and the enemies of free speech wear down and intimidate authors with the guts to tell the truth. They wear them down financially, because lawyers are expensive and you have to use a lawyer even if you are completely innocent and the other side are self-serving, immoral liars and/or idiots with absolutely no case. They wear you down emotionally, because you have to face court dates, and public scrutiny, and the fear of some clueless judge (like the one in Britain Rachel faced) finding you guilty and imposing multi-million dollar fines against you.
Now, the capital of freedom and of publishing, New York, is about to pass legislation that will stop the success of the kind of lawsuits facing the Rachel Ehrenfelds of the world, protecting them from the insanities of foreign justice. You can help to see this law passed. Below, details. Please, please get involved. Brigitte Gabriel, another author I admire, has written the letter below. Please write the assemblymen involved, Please write influential editors of influential papers. Help us to see this happen!!

Libel Terrorism Protection Act
We are concerned with the bi-partisan “Libel Terrorism Protection Act,” introduced in the New York Assembly and Senate by Assemblyman Rory Lancman (D) and Senator Dean Skelos (R).This bill has been introduced to protect New York authors who investigate and expose the enablers of terrorism from libel lawsuits filed in foreign courts.
Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, author of Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed – And How to Stop It, was the target of one of those lawsuits. The wealthy Saudi who filed the lawsuit against Dr. Ehrenfeld in the United Kingdom has successfully silenced more than 40 authors and publishers, including many Americans. If these lawsuits are allowed to continue, the ramifications for our cherished freedoms of speech and the press are chilling and ominous. The sooner “The Libel Terrorism Protection Act,” is signed into law, the sooner New York – the publishing capital of the U.S. and the free world – and New York authors will be protected from meritless and frivolous libel suits filed in foreign jurisdictions.
The “Libel Terrorism Protection Act” directly affects me (Brigitte). My first book, Because They Hate, was published by a New York publisher. My second book, scheduled for release later this year, will be published by that same New York publisher. Passage of this New York law will bring much-needed legal protection to the work I am doing. If you agree that this protection is essential to preserve the ability of authors like myself to speak out on matters of terrorism, please carefully read the action items below and then ACT! today. Thank you!
ACTION ITEMS
If the links don’t work, please just Google to get this information!
-
For those of you who live in New York State, please contact your Assembly Member and State Senator today. Contact them either by phone or email or both. Tell them you are calling in support of the “Libel Terrorism Protection Act,” bill number A9652, and ask for their support of the bill. The links below will take you to a listing of New York’s Assembly Members and Senators
http://senate.state.ny.us/senatehomepage.nsf/senators?OpenForm
http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/
In addition, if you have time, contact the Chair-person of the Judiciary Committees in both the Assembly and the Senate. The bill has been referred to these committees. Ask for the chairperson’s support for the bill. The links below will take you to the chair persons of the Assembly and Senate Judiciary Committees.
Helene E. Weinstein http://assembly.state.ny.us/mem/?ad=041 (Assembly)
http://senatordefrancisco.org/50/default.aspx (Senate)
Write a short letter to the Editor of your local newspaper, explaining the background of the bill and why it’s needed. Elected officials usually monitor letters to the editor as one way to keep their fingers on the local pulse.
-
For those of you who do not live in New York State, please contact the two Judiciary chair persons identified above. When you do, emphasize how important this bill is, that it is a model for other states and the federal government, and thus it has national implications – which is why you, a resident of a state other than New York, are contacting them. You, too, could send letters to the editor of New York newspapers. This would demonstrate to the press, public and New York legislators that “the nation is watching.”

Mark Steyn is yet another member of the anti-jihadist community who is under siege by the enforcers of political correctness. Merely for having written the truth about unchecked Islamic expansionism in western societies, Steyn is being prosecuted by Canada’s misnamed “Human Rights Commission” (HRC), at the federal level.
Recently, fellow Canadian writer Ezra Levant has also been interrogated by the provincial HRC in Alberta for having published the Mohammed cartoons.

(Originally posted on The Terror Finance Blog

NY State Assemblyman Rory Lancman gets it. Concerned with the growing threat of the Islamist Financial Jihad on our freedoms, Lancman authored the Libel Terrorism Protection Act in New York with Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean Skelos.
When we think about those fighting the war on terror, we of course first think of our soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. They are on the front lines, risking their lives to protect our country. We also think about our local cops and firefighters and first responders. They are defending our cities, unearthing terrorist plots and rushing to the scene of attacks to save and rescue lives.
But every American has an obligation to do their part, in whatever way they can, to contribute to victory over Islamic fundamentalism. So while soldiers fight, cops protect, and even individual citizens who “see something” make sure to “say something,” our journalists and authors discover and publish the truth about terrorists and their enablers the financiers, frontmen and terrorism-friendly regimes who provide the financial, logistical and political support and cover which enable the terrorists to exist, operate and strike.
The 19 men who boarded airplanes on September 11, 2001 and flew them into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a Pennsylvania field were merely the tip of a long and elaborate sword aimed at the West, a worldwide network of moneymen, coordinators, facilitators, propagandists and apologists who compose the terrorist network which delivered those 19 men to American airports.
The ability of our journalists, authors and press to expose these enablers and inform the American people, to discover and report the truth, is the most important weapon we have in the war on terror. The information they unearth informs not just the general public, but policymakers who must make choices about strategies and tactics, resources and priorities, allies and adversaries, in how best to fight this war. Without their work, we are all merely groping around in the dark.
The terrorists and their enablers know this.
That’s why American journalists and authors who relentlessly and doggedly pursue the truth about terrorism networks are being met with a barrage of libel lawsuits in kangaroo courts on phony-baloney libel charges in overseas jurisdictions who donât share our belief in freedom of speech or a free press.
England seems to be the enablers’ favorite forum, perhaps because since it is a Western country we might expect it to have libel laws which reflect what we Americans assume to be common Western values about freedom of speech, and to give an English libel judgment the same stamp of approval we would give an American one. In fact, America’s commitment to free speech and a free press is unique in the world. English libel law has barely evolved over the centuries. Authors are guilty until proven innocent, lack of negligence on the part of the author is irrelevant, statements of opinion are hardly more protected than statements of fact, an author=s unsuccessful effort to prove the truth of a statement can bring punitive damages and libel is even punishable as a misdemeanor crime.
New York author Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, who has written extensively on terrorist financing, has experienced libel terrorism firsthand. Twenty-three copies of her book, Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed and How to Stop It, were sold in England over the internet. Additionally, a chapter of her book was available for viewing on the website of an American television network. On that basis, she was sued for libel in England by a Saudi businessman whom she identified in her book as a terrorist enabler through his financial support of organizations with terrorist ties.
What’s shocking is not that an English court found against Dr. Ehrenfeld (not only was the deck stacked against her in any event but Dr. Ehrenfeld, as a matter of principle and financial inability to defend herself overseas, declined to show up for her show trial), but that New Yorkâs courts have refused to recognize its jurisdiction over the Saudi businessman in order to hear Dr. Ehrenfeld’s suit to declare this libel judgment unenforceable in New York. Dr. Ehrenfeld lives and works in New York, her assets are in New York, and the English judgment requires her to take actions in New York to prevent her book and its assertions from ever reaching England again.
As Americans and as New Yorkers, we must to act to protect our journalists, authors and press.
Legislation which I have authored in New York with Senate Deputy Majority Leader Dean Skelos will overrule New York’s highest court and give Dr. Ehrenfeld the opportunity to make her case here in the United States. It will give New Yorks journalists, authors and press the tools they need to continue to fearlessly expose the truth about terrorism and its enablers, and will ensure that New York, and America, remain a beacon of free speech and a free press. Other states will, we hope, follow New York’s lead, and Congress itself will act to protect the entire country from the scourge of libel terrorism.
Mr. Lancman is a New York State Assemblyman, a Democrat in the Twenty-Fifth District, Queens.

Please visit the above link to Lionheart’s blog.
Lionheart is the British blogger who is threatened with imprisonment if he returns to the UK – simply because he has been blogging about jihadist activity in Luton, and the connections between local drug gangs and international Islamist terrorism.
Now he is also being hounded by an impersonator who posts comments in Lionheart’s name that misrepresent Lionheart’s positions and besmirch his name. The commenter, who is not Lionheart, voices support for the BNP and its current leadership.
Who would do this – and why?
The BNP, under its current leadership, is associated with racism and anti-Semitism. By giving the false impression that Lionheart supports the BNP and its current leadership, the impostor hopes to cause people to become suspicious of Lionheart, to withdraw their support, and to turn against him.
For all intents and purposes, this impostor is spreading enemy disinformation and propaganda within the anti-jihadist community.
I strongly urge the people who handle tech support for Jihad Watch to do all they can to track down this impostor and take proper legal measures against the culprit without delay.
