Australian Muslims Push for Islamic ‘Perspective’ in School Curriculum
Muslim immigrants want to start from the premise that Australia is a “racist” country and not a fit place to raise children. (Also read Richard Fernandez: “The Australian Elections.”)
August 22, 2010 – by Herbert London
Recently the Australian Curriculum Studies Association and the University of Melbourne’s Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies issued a booklet, “Learning From One Another: Bringing Muslim Perspectives into Australian Schools,” which maintains that “every Australian school student would be taught positive aspects about Islam and Muslims — and that Australia is a racist country.”
Presumably every Australian child should be taught about the fabled past of Islam and imagine the worst of Australia in order to avoid the challenges Islam poses to this peacefully integrated nation.
The report contends that there is a “degree of prejudice and ignorance about Islam and Muslims,” conditions that Australian students should oppose as they embrace diversity as the standard of civic duty. Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden are mentioned as famous names synonymous with traditional Islamic ideas, but there isn’t any reference to terrorism.
The truly remarkable dimension of this report is that a largely immigrant community, comprising a small minority, is demanding that classes be taught from its perspective rather than the perspective of the nation to which most chose to come. Australia is demonized as racist while the real challenges posed by Islam are overlooked. Moreover, it is precisely the communal values and institutions in Australia that made it a worthy destination for immigrants in the first place.

buzzsawmonkey hits the nail on the head in this comment:
“Muslim,” of course, is not a race.
And if Australia is so dreadfully prejudiced against Muslims, why did they choose to move there?
Curriculum corruption is nothing new
The only thing new about it is the degree to which curriculum corruption is being harnessed to the forces of worldwide jihad. For that, we can thank the tranzi-prog/jihadist alliance that makes up the current western political/academic/media elite.
Even back in 1964, physicist Richard P. Feynman noticed how the American curriculum was being debased. He recounted his experiences with evaluating textbooks in his 1985 autobiography, “Surely you’re joking, Mr. Feynman!” The Textbook League makes that chapter, Judging Books by Their Covers, available online, with permission from the publisher. Here is a brief excerpt; it is worth visiting the site (or buying the book) to read the whole thing.
I was giving a series of freshman physics lectures [in 1964], and after one of them, Tom Harvey, who assisted me in putting on the demonstrations, said, “You oughta see what’s happening to mathematics in schoolbooks! My daughter comes home with a lot of crazy stuff!”
I didn’t pay much attention to what he said.
But the next day I got a telephone call from a pretty famous lawyer here in Pasadena, Mr. Norris, who was at that time on the State Board of Education. He asked me if I would serve on the State Curriculum Commission, which had to choose the new schoolbooks for the state of California. You see, the state had a law that all of the schoolbooks used by all of the kids in all of the public schools have to be chosen by the State Board of Education, so they have a committee to look over the books and to give them advice on which books to take.
It happened that a lot of the books were on a new method of teaching arithmetic that they called “new math,” and since usually the only people to look at the books were schoolteachers or administrators in education, they thought it would be a good idea to have somebody who uses mathematics scientifically, who knows what the end product is and what we’re trying to teach it for, to help in the evaluation of the schoolbooks.
I must have had, by this time, a guilty feeling about not cooperating with the government, because I agreed to get on this committee.
Immediately I began getting letters and telephone calls from schoolbook publishers. They said things like, “We’re very glad to hear you’re on the committee because we really wanted a scientific guy . . .” and “It’s wonderful to have a scientist on the committee, because our books are scientifically oriented . . .” But they also said things like, “We’d like to explain to you what our book is about . . .” and “We’ll be very glad to help you in any way we can to judge our books . . .” That seemed to me kind of crazy. I’m an objective scientist, and it seemed to me that since the only thing the kids in school are going to get is the books (and the teachers get the teacher’s manual, which I would also get), any extra explanation from the company was a distortion. So I didn’t want to speak to any of the publishers and always replied, “You don’t have to explain; I’m sure the books will speak for themselves.”
I represented a certain district, which comprised most of the Los Angeles area except for the city of Los Angeles, which was represented by a very nice lady from the L.A. school system named Mrs. Whitehouse. Mr. Norris suggested that I meet her and find out what the committee did and how it worked.
Mrs. Whitehouse started out telling me about the stuff they were going to talk about in the next meeting (they had already had one meeting; I was appointed late). “They’re going to talk about the counting numbers.” I didn’t know what that was, but it turned out they were what I used to call integers. They had different names for everything, so I had a lot of trouble right from the start.
She told me how the members of the commission normally rated the new schoolbooks. They would get a relatively large number of copies of each book and would give them to various teachers and administrators in their district. Then they would get reports back on what these people thought about the books. Since I didn’t know a lot of teachers or administrators, and since I felt that I could, by reading the books myself, make up my mind as to how they looked to me, I chose to read all the books myself. . . .
…
We came to a certain book, part of a set of three supplementary books published by the same company, and they asked me what I thought about it.
I said, “The book depository didn’t send me that book, but the other two were nice.”
Someone tried repeating the question: “What do you think about that book?”
“I said they didn’t send me that one, so I don’t have any judgment on it.”
The man from the book depository was there, and he said, “Excuse me; I can explain that. I didn’t send it to you because that book hadn’t been completed yet. There’s a rule that you have to have every entry in by a certain time, and the publisher was a few days late with it. So it was sent to us with just the covers, and it’s blank in between. The company sent a note excusing themselves and hoping they could have their set of three books considered, even though the third one would be late.”
It turned out that the blank book had a rating by some of the other members! They couldn’t believe it was blank, because [the book] had a rating. In fact, the rating for the missing book was a little bit higher than for the two others. The fact that there was nothing in the book had nothing to do with the rating.
I believe the reason for all this is that the system works this way: When you give books all over the place to people, they’re busy; they’re careless; they think, “Well, a lot of people are reading this book, so it doesn’t make any difference.” And they put in some kind of number — some of them, at least; not all of them, but some of them. Then when you receive your reports, you don’t know why this particular book has fewer reports than the other books — that is, perhaps one book has ten, and this one only has six people reporting — so you average the rating of those who reported; you don’t average the ones who didn’t report, so you get a reasonable number. This process of averaging all the time misses the fact that there is absolutely nothing between the covers of the book!
I made that theory up because I saw what happened in the curriculum commission: For the blank book, only six out of the ten members were reporting, whereas with the other books, eight or nine out of the ten were reporting. And when they averaged the six, they got as good an average as when they averaged with eight or nine. They were very embarrassed to discover they were giving ratings to that book, and it gave me a little bit more confidence. It turned out the other members of the committee had done a lot of work in giving out the books and collecting reports, and had gone to sessions in which the book publishers would explain the books before they read them; I was the only guy on that commission who read all the books and didn’t get any information from the book publishers except what was in the books themselves, the things that would ultimately go to the schools.

Rebuilding has been blocked for nearly nine years. Where’s the outrage?
Amid all the brouhaha about the intentions of our Muslim enemies to build a monument to terrorism at Ground Zero in New York City, we seem to have forgotten about rebuilding the little Orthodox Christian church that was destroyed in the same attack.
George Demos: REBUILD THE CHURCH AT GROUND ZERO, NOT A MOSQUE
H/T: Sparta

Brookhaven, NY- George Demos, the Conservative Republican Candidate for Congress in New York’s First Congressional District issued the following statement on the proposed mosque amid the sacred ruins of Ground Zero and expressed outrage at our own government’s refusal to rebuild the only house of worship that was actually destroyed on September 11th- the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
George Demos said:
“On September 11, 2001, over 3,000 Americans, including 168 residents of our community in Suffolk County, were taken from us by the evil acts of Islamic extremists bent on destroying our freedoms. Amid the thick smoke and choking ashes of that fateful day, the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church was reduced to dust.
Since 1922, St. Nicholas Church had stood as a quiet sanctuary of prayer and reflection amidst the tumultuous and bustling crossroads of commerce. For nine years the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey has used bureaucratic obstacles and false promises to hinder the rebuilding of the St. Nicholas Church. This must end and it must end now.
What an outrage that our government has put roadblocks in the path of its own citizens trying rebuild their beloved Church destroyed by Islamic extremists, while Saudi Arabia, a nation that prohibits people from even wearing a Cross or the Star of David, now provokes the families of those who lost loved ones by apparently funneling money to build a mosque at the same location.
As our Congressman, I will always remember that our Constitutional freedom of religion starts with respecting our own sacred Judeo-Christian heritage. Now is the time for the Port Authority to stop hiding behind its bureaucracy and to facilitate the rebuilding of the St. Nicholas Church that was taken from us on that quiet September morning nearly a decade ago.”
Local bureaucrats block rebuilding the church, but smooth the way for a mosque
I suppose that’s what passes for “freedom of religion” these days! How sadly ironic, considering that there is no greater enemy of freedom of religion than Islam. Islam unjustly avails itself of Constitutional protections by calling itself a religion, but it is not a religion in any recognizable sense of the word. Islam is instead an expansionist, totalitarian political ideology that, much like Nazism and Communism, seeks to rid the world of everything but itself.
Evidently, that’s just fine with the tranzi-progressive/jihadist alliance that is currently running the show in New York City. The New York/New Jersey Port Authority bureaucrats are refusing to budge, and, with few exceptions, the local politicians are doing nothing to get justice for the St. Nicholas congregation and other Orthodox Christians who have the right to worship and to commemmorate the dead in a church on this site.
This story ran in the New York Times over a year ago, and still nothing has been done.

Published: July 3, 2008
The story of the tiny St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and its efforts to rebuild after the collapse of the World Trade Center is one of well-intentioned promises that led to endless negotiations, design disputes, delays and mounting costs.
It is, in other words, a microcosm of the seven-year, $16 billion, problem-plagued effort to reconstruct the entire trade center site.
Within a month of the attack on the trade center, Archbishop Demetrios, primate of the Greek Orthodox Church in America, pledged that the four-story church would rise “on the same sacred spot as a symbol of determined faith.” Gov. George E. Pataki agreed.
But today, the church exists only on blueprints. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the agency overseeing reconstruction, has not finalized the exchange of land needed to provide the congregation with a new home near ground zero. Until that deal is completed, the authority cannot proceed with building the southern foundation wall for the entire site, and cannot draw up designs for a bomb screening center for buses and trucks that would go under the new church.

Deflecting suspicion by pretending to ‘liberalize’ Muslim life
Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who, despite what some of his supporters claim, is neither peace-loving nor “moderate”, has warned Muslims in western lands to ‘cool it’ for the time being.
Why this strategic retreat? It seems that the constant efforts to import the benighted and savage Muslim ideology and lifestyle into western nations has begun to draw negative attention. More and more of the citizenry (though not yet the governments) of western nations have learned to be suspicious of everything having to do with Islam, and with very good reason. For just one example, the outrageous attempt to build a huge mosque next to the Ground Zero site has alerted much of the public to the true nature of Islam, and has given rise to widespread public protests. (See SIOA: NYC’s MTA Drops Restrictions on Free Speech, Allows Bus Ads Linking 9/11 to Ground Zero Mosque.)
As far as Qaradawi and other jihadis are concerned, it will never do to have the public catch on while there is still time to put a stop to their activities.
Top Muslim Cleric Qaradawi Urges Western Muslims to ‘Liberalize’ – Outwardly, Anyway h/t: Gates of Vienna
…Qaradawi is referring to those other aspects of Sharia law — you know, subjugation of non-Muslim infidels, absolute authority over women, jihad, draconian punishments, and all the rest — that do create “hardships” for Muslims who try to implement them in the West, for instance, by getting them arrested and imprisoned.
In other words, far from “liberalizing” Muslim life, taysir allows only for insincere conformity. As Qaradawi made clear, to practice taysir is not to renounce Sharia’s otherwise harsh obligations; it is to put them on hold till circumstances are more accommodating.
Qaradawi’s Muslim Brotherhood colleague, Tariq Ramadan, provides an ideal example: he recommends that a “moratorium” — a temporary ban — be placed on the Muslim practice of stoning adulterers to death; yet he refuses to say that stoning is intrinsically un-Islamic. This, of course, is taysir in practice: because stoning people in the West is liable to get the stoner incarcerated or worse, upholding the Sharia mandate to stone adulterers is “hard” on Muslims living in the West, so best to put it on hold — that is, till circumstances are more opportune.
A final observation: the notorious doctrine of taqiyya, which permits Muslims to deceive non-Muslims, is rooted in taysir; in fact, one of the few books devoted to the topic, al-Taqiyya fi al-Islam, spends some time rationalizing taqiyya in light of taysir. And there it is: when Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, perhaps the most authoritative Muslim voice in Sunni Islam today, calls on Muslims “especially in Europe and America” to practice taysir, he is, in essence, calling on them to practice taqiyya — calling on them to conform outwardly to Western standards while inwardly maintaining loyalty to Sharia.

What the “Stealth Jihad” is all about
The long and the short of it is that our Muslim enemies are in the process of using western beliefs and ideals, including protections enshrined in the US Constitution, as a cover for their efforts to overthrow and destroy western civilization. This book review by Janet Levy at American Thinker sums up the modern stealth jihadi agenda very well.
Modern Day Trojan Horse: The Islamic Doctrine of Immigration
h/t: vagabond trader, who found this link on Weasel Zippers
By Sam Solomon and Elias Al Maqdisi
ANM Publishers, 2009
139 pp., $14.95
Within the past few decades, mosques have increasingly dotted the landscapes of American and European cities and towns, with mega mosques often overshadowing adjacent, centuries-old churches in predominantly Christian regions. Islamic schools or academies and a host of Muslim organizations have become omnipresent across the West.
Meanwhile, Americans and Europeans have made countless accommodations to Muslim demands. They have included footbaths; high-decibel, five-times-daily calls to prayer; segregated male-female gym and swimming pool hours; halal food; workplace dispensations for handling pork products and for female head and face coverings; and special, public prayer rooms. Also, shari’ah-compliant financial transactions, the expunging of offensive likenesses of Mohammed or imagined depictions of Arabic characters that connote “Allah,” official swearings-in on Korans in place of customary Bibles, the neutralizing of official descriptive language about Islamists and the jihad, the revision of so-called offensive content in movies and television programs, the removal of representations of pigs from the public sphere, and many other acculturations to Muslim entreaties have all been made in the service of respecting Muslim religious beliefs and practices.
To those in Western democracies, these accommodating actions appear, on the surface, to be little more than harmless civil gestures, respecting the needs of a growing religion in their midst and welcoming a new addition to their proud, multicultural tradition. Many Westerners pat themselves on the back for their liberal bent, their tolerance and their open-mindedness.
Little do they realize that this strategic pattern of demands is part of an insidious, 1,400-year-old proscription for Muslims that originates in the Koran and the Sunnah, the deeds of Mohammed. It is the Hijra or doctrine of immigration. Modeled by Mohammed’s migration from Mecca to Medina, this immigration is not to a romanticized melting pot wherein newcomers gratefully search for opportunities for a better life in liberty and freely offer their talents and loyalty to benefit their new homeland. This is immigration for Islamic expansionism employing ethnic separatism to gain special status and privileges within the host country. Hijra is immigration designed to subvert and subdue non-Muslim societies and pave the way for eventual, total Islamization.

Subject: ANOTHER APPEAL!!!
This is another appeal – McCain must go!
I just sent a letter to The Arizona Republic regarding McCain’s bid for re-election in which he is being challenged in the Republican Primary Election on 24 Aug. If I do not hear from The Arizona Republic within the next few days, I will post my letter. In my letter, I concentrated on McCain’s support for granting amnesty to illegal aliens and his efforts to restrict free speech with restictions on campaign finances. In my letter, I also wrote, “where has McCain been for the past 24 plus years?” When he did nothing to secure our borders? I also added that McCain is the best reason why there should be term limits. However, I would hope that some of you will send letters more to do with McCain’s connections to the Kosovo Liberation Army. May I add that it must be done diplomatically (I know that will be difficult to do!)
To send a letter to The Arizona Republic, you can go to: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/opinions/sendaletter.html The limit is 200 words.
I also found the email address for the Arizona Daily Sun: azdesnews@azdailysun.com
Now, here is where you can be a big help. If anyone knows or can find out the names of the different Arizona newspapers and their email address for letters to the editor(s), it would be most helpful. If anyone can do that, please post so that we can write to them also.
But how about that McCain? Where has he been for the past 24 plus years? He was once even in favor of amnesty for illegals (McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Plan) but now he is saying what he thinks the people want to hear and all of a sudden, supports securing our borders. What a hypocrite – see: McCain supports amnesty, says immigration activist and Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Plan Falls Flat.
Illegal Mexicans are crossing into the United States as easily as Albanians crossed illegally into Kosovo. If only Kosovo had been able to secure its borders, it would be a different story today. Unfortunately, we have a president who is siding with the President of Mexico against his own people.
I am, of course, supporting J.D. Hayworth, especially after McCain’s support of the Muslim jihadists in Kosovo – and then he claims to be the best one regarding our homeland security. He didn’t mind turning Kosovo over to a bunch of Muslim war lords. See: McCain and the KLA Connection
See: Allah’s Willing Executioners, March 2008 and scroll down to see the picture of Cindy McCain with Kosovo’s war lord, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci. Kind of unbelieveable, isn’t it, that we would support Muslim KLA terrorists over the Christian Serbs?
I understand that there are at least four or five other states that have even stricter immigration laws than Arizona’s, but if the governors of all the states had any gumption, they would all openly support Arizona – but then, that may be asking too much?????
I just hope my Serbian friends remember just who this guy McCain is when the Republican Primary Election rolls around on 24 August by sending contributions to J.D. Hayworth. I want McCain to go down!

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians 6:12 (King James Version)
In General Casey obscures the pellucid air of Aspen, Fitzgerald of Jihad Watch gets it almost completely right. After roundly condemning George Casey for his dhimmitude under the guise of “diversity,” he proceeds to question America’s entire vision of what we are up against. And rightly so:
Former Vice President Cheney famously said that this would be a “Long War.”
And now General Casey, and those behind and above him, say that at the very least, this war in Afghanistan alone may go on for another five or ten years. And hearing this, we may ask ourselves where else will this war, fought this way, be taken – will it go to Somalia, or to Yemen? Will these be the next Stations of the National Cross we are collectively made to bear, because those who rule over us do not know, and do not want to know, and may even not know that they do not know, what is necessary if a sensible policy of managing the war of self-defense against all those who take the duty and doctrine of Jihad seriously can be constructed and applied?
That war of self-defense is not a “Long War.” It is not a war that might go on for “five” or maybe “ten” more years, in Afghanistan or anywhere else, and then be over with.. It is a permanent war, a war without end, because the doctrine of Jihad is a permanent, and central, not tangential, part of Islam. The duty to engage, directly or indirectly, in Jihad – which should not be thought of only as involving terrorism or other forms of violence – does not disappear. It did not disappear in the century-and-a-half, from roughly 1800 to 1950, when Muslims were so obviously weak that those who wanted to engage in Jihad simply could not. But now things have unalterably changed: the OPEC trillions (more than 13 trillion dollars since 1973 alone to the Muslim members of OPEC), with more piling up every year, and the millions of Muslims foolishly allowed in, through the casually criminal negligence of political and media elites, to the countries of Western Europe. All this, and then the exploitation of Western technology that is useful in the dissemination of the message of Islam, both to Muslims (some of whom might heretofore have been unaware of the full message of Islam, but can remain so now only with difficulty) and to non-Muslims who might be seduced by the siren-song of whatever melody (e.g., “social justice”) that Muslims conducting Da’wa might wish to underhum.
Far from being “realistic” in their supposedly “glum” assessments, Cheney with his “Long War” and General Casey with his “five or ten more years in Afghanistan” are actually misleading themselves, and us. For they are refusing to grasp the nature of the war. They are thinking in terms that do not make sense. To wit: It might take us “five or ten years” to stamp out Al Qaeda, and the Taliban, in both its Afghani and Pakistani versions, and then, supposedly, we will have our “victory,” we will have “won.” But no “victory” in the conventional sense is possible. And there is to be no “winning” but only, rather, the minimizing of the threat and the conceivable damage, from Muslims. Why? Because there is no sell-by date to the doctrine and duty of Jihad. It goes on forever. And when anyone tells you, with a sober mien that is supposed to convey the message that “I’m not naïve, I’m a grim realist, I know this is going to be a long hard slog and it might take five years, ten years, twenty years, in Af-Pak and the Horn of Africa,” you should not think to yourself that at long last someone has dared to tell the truth, someone in authority is leveling with you…
Fitzgerald then pokes some well-deserved holes into the unalloyed madness and idiocy that passes for long-term strategy in Iraq and Afghanistan:
And a second part of the Aspen speech by George Casey also merits attention: “Casey highlighted job, education and economic growth as essential to success in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
This is what we are so drearily familiar with, the idea that we should do with Muslim lands what we did with the countries of Western Europe after World War II with the Marshall Plan (indeed, Al-Jaafari and others in Iraq have more than once called for a “New Marshall Plan” for Iraq, in which the United States taxpayers foot the bill; “Marshall Plan” is a phrase strangely familiar to many Arabs and Muslims). We have an official unemployment rate of nearly 10% in this country (and more, if one counts those who have given up looking for work, and still more, if one counts all the greatly under-employed). We have a collapsing educational system. We do not have economic growth. But Casey, and those for whom Casey also speaks, thinks that Americans should pay for “jobs and education and economic growth” in Iraq and Afghanistan. Never mind that Iraq has the second or possibly first largest reserves of oil in the world, and thanks to the United States had its entire debt of nearly $100 billion cancelled by the Western nations (but notice that the Arab creditors did not cancel what was owed to them), and will be raking in hundreds of billions. Never mind that “education” may make an enemy more formidable, not less, and if “education” never questions the teachings of Islam, but merely makes Muslims more dangerous because better educated, why is this something we should encourage?
After facing all of this horror head-on, Fitzgerald reaches a conclusion that is far rosier than his own evidence warrants:
Is there time for Obama to begin to see things differently, and to get rid of the brennans and bring on board the ship of state, now a dangerously listing Narrenschiff or S. S. Naufragium, others, less ignorant and less self-deceived? Yes. There is time. But only just.
No, there is no time, simply because Obama is not one of us; he is among our enemies. He sympathizes with the jihadis and he will continue to do everything he can to ensure that they win.

Hi Bob, Good article!
How about that McCain? Where has he been for the past 24 plus years? He was once even in favor of amnesty for illegals (McCain-Kennedy Amnesty Plan) but now that it is popular, all of a sudden McCain is for border control. What a hypocrite – see: McCain supports amnesty, says immigration activist and Kennedy-McCain Amnesty Plan Falls Flat.
We are, of course, supporting J.D.
I just hope the Serbs remember just who this guy is when election times rolls around and send money to Hayworth. I want McCain to go down!
I understand that there are at least four other states that have even stricter immigration laws – And how about a president that supports the president of Mexico over his own people? If the governors of all the states had any gumption, they would all openly support Arizona – but then, that may be asking too much?????
Cheers,
Stella

Subject: Arizona Immigration Gone Awry: Why Rape Victim Had to Defend Herself (July 15)
FROM HAIKU, MAUI
Hello everybody. As you know, I don’t write many Truth in Media editorials these days, or years for that matter. But when something outrageous happens, such as the anti-G20 protests in Toronto, or the new information that just crossed my desk about Arizona’s illegal immigration that calls for the real TRUTH to emerge, well… I answer the call. Check it out…
A few months ago, a groups of friends sat around the table here in Hawaii and debated Arizona’s new immigration law. The law was seen as “racist,” “bad,” “unlawful,” “unconstitutional,” etc. by most people. Strike “most.” Make that ALL participants in the discussion. Of course, they were merely echoing the so-called “liberal” media headlines.
Except for one. As the only Arizonan in the group, this writer finally asked the question: “So are you saying that it is unlawful to uphold the law and make something illegal – illegal?”
My Hawaiian friends argued that since immigration is a purview of the Federal Government, a state has no right to enforce the federal laws.
But what if such federal law enforcement is slim to none? What is a state or a citizen supposed to do if their properties, land, nature, and foremost of all – their physical and economic security – are being blatantly violated while the Feds do next to nothing to prevent the carnage? Sit back and watch it being destroyed so that some American businesses can benefit from cheaper labor?
Well, it is easy to cast stones at our beleaguered border states, such as Arizona, while sitting in an office in Manhattan or Hollywood, or while debating immigration over fish dinners in Hawaii or Seattle. But as one who still considers Arizona his original American home, my heart cried out in outrage when I watched the following videos, just released by the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, DC:
Floodgates which opened in 1965 with Immigration Act are now gushing more than BP’s Gulf of Mexico oil gusher.
New documentary video, released by Center for Immigration Studies helps explain, vindicates Arizona’s new immigration law: A case of self-defense.
Love
Bob

Jihadis victimize everyone
On Christmas Day a brave Dutchman, Jasper Schuringa, played a very big role in preventing yet another terrorist triumph.
He was able to subdue the young Islamist Nigerian man, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and stop him from murdering a plane-load of people and then getting his virgins, raisins, or whatever these brain-washed Islamists think is waiting for them in Paradise.
Now the airlines of the world have to think hard about what they can do, yet again, to keep the airlines safe.
But can they? Christopher Hitchens doubts it, and wonders why the majority of us have to endure these basically useless procedures.
Daniel Pipes suggests using the methods employed by El Al, Israel’s airline.
People who follow the activities of Islamists worldwide would not have been at all surprised.
Thwarted terror plots and Islamist Militants’ incidents are almost daily occurrences. The only surprises are the out-of-the-box methods that are constantly updated. It seems these people have nothing better to do than figure out new ways of killing people they hate and disagree with!
What a "noble goal" in life that must be!
This is a global problem, yet the leaders of the world simply don’t want to know about it, let alone deal with it effectively.
Yes, there is a river in Egypt called "Denial".
Another fact often overlooked is that these attempts at mass murder do not only occur in the west, but in many Islamic countries. Pakistan is a good example of this. Muslim on Muslim murder. And of course who can forget the beheadings by the Taliban.
In 2009 there was quite a string of such plots and incidents and they have been well-documented by those who follow these issues.
Here is an excellent summary by Pamela Geller.
She is not alone. To list all the people who document these incidents is quite a task: Robert Spencer, Daniel Pipes, and Steven Emerson, to name but a few.
It is indeed astonishing that people, moderate Muslims and non-Muslims alike, do not protest in front of their respective government agencies constantly and say "enough already!"
It is quite unbelievable. Is it fear? Political Correctness? Apathy? Ignorance? All of these and maybe more? Why should any civilized person have to put up with any form of medieval behavior in the twenty-first century?
Excusing jihadis; demonizing those who defend themselves
And yet recently I read on Ms Geller’s excellent blog about Bill Ayres et al protesting about conditions in Gaza, which, by the way, are not nearly as bad as people would have you think.
These people are ably assisted by the Viva Palestina crowd led by George Galloway who has just been accused of lying by the Egyptians.
Mention must also be made here of the "gifts" bestowed on Israel and the rest of the world by Jimmy Carter. His apology for his comments about Israel, and his role in adding to the global jihad should not be underestimated.
It is as if they are totally ignorant of what is actually happening, and ignorant of the fact that not only the Israelis, but also the Egyptians control the crossings to Gaza. It is not just ignorance. It is deceit, and it is affecting many people who live in the Middle East: Muslims, Jews and Christians alike.
But I forget: Gaza is a fashionable cause, and Israel, that tiny strip of democratic land in an ocean of Islamic theocracies and dictatorships, is the cause of ALL the problems in the world – yep, sure it is!
All those "occupied territories" ..err.." disputed territories" are the root cause of it all!!
And please dismiss from your mind the thousands of rockets that were launched into Israel which eventually lead to the Gaza war and the infamous Goldstone Report.
Israel’s legal position is well explained by Danny Ayalon.
Shame many people don’t realize the real situation in Israel.
I am not trying to demean the suffering of the Palestinians, especially the Gazans, who, under Hamas have indeed suffered, yet most of this is due to their leaders who are obsessed with maintaining power, accumulating wealth, and are totally disinterested in the welfare of their citizens.
Corruption is king. Teach your children to hate. Get money for weapons from the West and build almost NO infrastructure. Make sure the United Nations helps you all the way, and perpetuates this ridiculous situation. Can’t have a bunch of UN employees out of a job, can we?
Tennis Jihad
Yesterday I read that New Zealand is protesting an Israeli tennis player, Shahar Pe’er. This is not this first instance of "Tennis Jihad".
It has happened in Sweden too.
Is it not strange that two western democracies allow politics to interfere with a sporting event in this day and age?
Am I being naive? Are all sporting events tied to politics like they were in Hitler’s time? They shouldn’t be. Is history repeating itself?
This is the disconnect: every day we hear of Islamist terrorism all over the world. No one says a word; no one protests, no one minds being patted down and removing their shoes at airports.
People of all races and creeds everywhere are threatened by radical Islamist extremists who are willing to kill and die in the name of their belief system. (I hesitate to call it a religion).
Blame must also go to the left-wing post-modernists who ably support them in the name of political correctness and self-loathing.
But one Israeli tennis player in New Zealand, and one in Sweden, cause demonstrations. These two countries, fine examples of Western liberal democracies, should hang their heads in shame.
This situation is very hard to comprehend. "You can’t be serious!" Indeed, Mr McEnroe!
