August 24th, 2007 — activism, Jenn Sierra (author), conservative, advertising, blogging
Jenn Sierra, of FHK, received this by e-mail today from Eric Odom.

Fellow Bloggers,
Did you know there is a movement taking place to take on YearlyKOS?
Indeed, CLC07 is busy planning a large scale conference that has the ability to not only counter the far left gathering of liberal bloggers, but to actually beat them at their own game.
If I told you that we have the capacity to host more than 2,000 right leaning individuals, a line up of special guests that would turn any liberal face red, and the technological ability to equip an army of bloggers to go out and counter the left wing message, would you be interested in joining in on the fun?
Thought so.
Good news! WE’VE GOT IT ALL AND MORE!
This coming October, the 11th through the 13th to be exact, Citizen Outreach and Americans for Tax Reform will be hosting a national gathering of political activists and new media junkies.
I’m the guy in charge of the blogging side of this event, and I’ve put together what I think is a superb line up of speakers and trainers for a full day of blogging goodness. I’m bringing in Evan Coyne Maloney for video blogging, Pamela (aka “atlas”) Oshrey, Erick Erickson of Redstate, to name just a few.
I’ve also been able to talk Lorelle VanFossen, THE Wordpress guru who wrote the award winning book “blogging tips”, into coming and teaching a few classes.
On top of that, we’re bringing in a delicious list of conservative speakers and activists. Speakers like South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, Congressman John Shadegg, Congressman Dean Heller, former house majority leader Dick Armey, former congressman Bob Barr, former congressman J.D. Hayworth, and many, MANY MORE! (see list below)
Have no doubt, we have everything we need to help YOU further your blogging and activism skills. We just need to make sure that you, along with everyone you know, will be present to take advantage of this world class event.
This is it. This is where we prove we can do what they do, and we can do it better. But, we’ve GOT to get the word out!
Further down this newsletter you’ll see an extremely special offer that we’ve crafted for those who can register early. This offer is valid until the end of August, so please let everyone know about it as soon as possible.
I realize that not everyone can make an event such as this. However, you can STILL be a huge help in this by blogging about it, talking about it, and making sure that the entire “conservasphere” is aware of what we’re up to.
I’m personally inviting you to join us, and asking for your help in promoting RIGHTOBERFEST.
Always Blogging,
-Eric Odom

See this entry on My Pet Jawa, a prominent antijihadist blog.
It has certainly taken awhile for the U.S. government to start paying attention to cyberjihadism.
1389 wants to know:
When will they begin to look at the relentless pro-jihadist intimidation and censorship at social news and Web 2.0 sites, such as Digg?
When will they recognize that the site’s owners and staff are responsible for allowing this activity to run rampant?
When will they start looking at the backgrounds and connections of these staffers, including contractors?
Allowing our self-proclaimed enemies to take control of, and to censor, our social news sites is giving them waaaaay too much power, and it has to stop!

Over at Pirate’s Cove, William Teach warns us about what happens when we fail to keep up the pressure on our legislators:
Demotivation Monday: Immigration Backers Optimistic
In a nutshell, our elected senators and representatives, not to mention the President, all think that they can ignore us. Teach gives several reasons, but this is the one you need to see right now:
Third, the flood of angry calls, emails, protests, etc, probably did recede, as the people who were making them, particularly Conservatives, do not think that they have to continue to say the same thing again and again: they expect Senators to listen the first time.
Problem is, they didn’t listen, so you gotta crank up the volume.
We’ll make it easy for you. Refer back to our earlier post on this topic, Updated: No, it’s NOT too late to stop the immigration “reform” bill! Use the links there to reach out and touch the senators from your state.

Terrorists Use Mexico to Enter U.S.
Open borders means no barriers against terrorist infiltration. And despite what the “reformers” say, it’s impossible to do an effective background check on an alien in one business day. Once they get in, it’s too late.

Here’s what you can do:
First of all, to target your efforts, it helps to know who the perps are. So how do we know exactly which senators are most to blame for foisting this on us? Sweetness and Light comes to the rescue with the rogues’ gallery:
‘Gang of 12′ senators key to immigration bill.
Next, head on over to Dumb Ox Daily News for a complete dissection of the nasty innards of this immigration bill, along with a lookup link to give you the email addresses of the senators from your state, and a news roundup on the issue:
Immigration Bill: Still Time to Act on Amnesty Cabal…UPDATED
There’s even a phone number for the senate offices. Read the material here and check out some of the links. Equip yourself with the facts, and nobody will be able to put you off with generalities and empty promises. These folks have done the research, so that when you call or e-mail, you’ll be loaded for bear!

As the Illegal Alien Invasion Amnesty Bill got a major push by the Senate today, it became obvious that Americans were again too lazy to make a phone call to their legislators before this reported debacle took place.
From the Washington Times:
The Bush administration, trying to win an immigration agreement with Democrats, is backing away from safeguards designed to target businesses that hire illegal aliens and to prevent a repeat of the rampant fraud that resulted from the 1986 amnesty.
You won’t find much information in the liberal media on how this bill affects the illegal aliens with a Islamic background. They would prefer it if we would forget all about Fort Dix. Instead, you can expect to be buried in propaganda about all of the America-loving Hispanics who just want to have a chance at a better life. You also won’t see the signs from the illegal alien demonstrations, carried by the ‘undocumented workers’, claiming that California and Texas belong to Mexico.
Instead, you can expect news stories like Deal on Immigration Reached, by Washington Post staff writer Jonathan Weisman, appearing Friday, May 18, 2007:
The Bush administration and a bipartisan group of senators reached agreement yesterday on a sprawling overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws that would bring an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants out of society’s shadows while stiffening protections and cracking down on employers of undocumented workers…
The Senate deal would grant temporary legal status to virtually all illegal immigrants in the country, while allowing them to apply for residence visas and eventual citizenship.
We now know that “bipartisan” means traitors working to overthrow America’s immigration laws.
The White House comment line is being flooded with calls from unhappy citizens. This is good. If you haven’t gotten in a call yet, please do: (202) 456-1111
Also, if you haven’t called your U.S. Senator, the Capitol Hill switchboard will direct you to the correct office: (202) 224-3121.

April 27th, 2007 — MSM corruption, mobile web, fraud, spam, advertising
Television and radio commercials - and not only those low-budget late-night ads - are looking more and more like those offers for fake Viagra, boiler-room get-rich-quick schemes, and worthless diet products that seem to clutter everyone’s email.
Billionaire blogger Mark Cuban warns that showing these ads, which are nothing but ripoffs of the consumer, will hurt the reputation and the brand value of the radio or TV station.
In the article Ripoff Commercials = Stupid TV Stations and Networks, Cuban argues that, if a station hasn’t sold an ad slot to a quality advertiser, it would be better off not running any ad at all instead of running this garbage. Can’t argue with that!
Commenter Trey Tomeny says:
A great observation, Mark. It is especially appalling that so many of the commercials that air on talk radio are for highly questionable get rich quick schemes. Those shows are the product of individual hosts who seem to value their integrity, and then apparently sell it to the highest bidder during the breaks.
By the way, Mark Cuban’s blog offers a mobile website - try it and see!
