February 4th, 2010 — 2008 US Elections, Obama, McCain, smiley, 1389 Blog - Antijihadist Tech, the human condition, Clinton, 1389, blogging

Yes, we’re still around…
As I have mentioned elsewhere, we unfortunately no longer have the time, energy, or resources to devote to blogging that we once had in the past. Political blogging takes a heavy, and often a truly staggering, personal and professional toll on anybody who does it. Moreover, I have had some severe health issues and have had to cut back on certain activities, so it is a matter of priorities. Thus, in recent months, we have been blogging on a very infrequent basis.
When the 2008 US presidential election came down to Hillary, McCain, and Obama, followed by the worldwide economic collapse, it became clear to us that there was not much more that we could contribute by blogging at the same rate as we had previously been doing. Fortunately, we had reached the point where all of the points that we have been trying to make are also being made by many other bloggers, and even by a few conservative journalists and other public figures. We do not aspire to be acknowledged as the leaders of any particular movement.
Therefore, at this point, we have decided to post an article only when we have something to say that nobody else is already saying.
We do welcome your comments and feedback.

An unpleasant surprise
Earlier today, I accessed Blogrolling to add some entries to “1389’s Links.” This list appears in the 1389 Blog sidebar, and it offers a whole variety of links to sites that I find interesting, informative, or entertaining, and that readers might like to see also.
This is what came up:

Needless to say, I made no effort to contact ejder2121@windowslive.com.
How you can use it
Many bloggers and blog readers have seen lists of links to other blogs that are hosted and maintained through a service called Blogrolling. This service offers a home page that lets you open an account, set up and populate your own blogrolls and link lists, and generate Javascript code to display the link lists on your blog or website. You can distribute this Javascript code so that others can display shared blogrolls on their sites. For example, 1389 Blog maintains a shared blogroll for the Stop Blog Censorship campaign, which you can see in the sidebar.
Advantages and disadvantages
Blogrolling has its advantages and disadvantages, but overall, I’m a big fan of it, because of its convenience, stability, and ease of use. It has features for sorting blogrolls by most recent blog update, for searching blogrolls, for finding out who has blogrolled you, and for backing up blogroll links. On the other hand, because Blogrolling uses Javascript to build the link lists for display on your page, Google will not index the the links, and will not use the links to raise the page rank of the blogs on the list. And if you put too many blogrolls on the same page, it will introduce delays in loading the page, especially for readers without broadband service. That is why most of our blogrolls have been moved to the Links resource page.
Why would anybody hack Blogrolling?
That’s a good question.
Blogrolling is simply a hosting service for link lists, open to both commercial and noncommercial sites. To the best of my knowledge, Blogrolling takes no political, religious, or ideological stance.
Yes, it’s true that some conservative, antijihadist, pro-Christian, and pro-Jewish blogs and blog groups use Blogrolling - to name a few: Center for Vigilant Freedom, Bear Flag League, The Hillbilly Ecosystem, Screw the UN, International Zionist Web, The Tennessee ConserVOLiance, Christian Blogosphere, Right Truth, and the Crescent of Betrayal Blogburst.
So is that why the Blogrolling site was hacked? Most unlikely! Not only are there plenty of sites on Blogrolling that hold views that oppose ours, but also, it is clear that the vast majority of sites that use Blogrolling are commercial blogs that express no particular point of view either for or against the Islamist agenda.
So what would be the point of hacking Blogrolling?
Maybe there was no real point, or at least no point that would make any sense. Maybe the miscreant(s) were motivated simply by a desire to prove that they have the ability to make nuisances of themselves by interfering with a site that many people use. To be sure, that’s not much of an accomplishment. It takes a lot less talent and ability to break in and mess up a web page than it takes to create and run a good site. Blogrolling will most likely notify the authorities and then get their site up and running again with enhanced security. And what will people think who happen to see the hacked site? They’ll most likely be inclined to feel more negatively toward jihadism, Islam, and Muslims in general than they already do.
September 27th, 2008 — U.S. Constitution, vote fraud, 1389 Blog - Antijihadist Tech, 1389, Europe, blogging
As some of you have noticed, I quit updating this blog some time ago, because there was nothing further that I could advise anyone in the US to do, other than to leave.
Just for starters, I have become convinced that the primary elections for the Republican Party, and probably also the Democratic Party, came out the way they did on account of massive and widespread vote fraud. In other words, there is no possibility that the United States of America will ever again have a legitimate government that reflects the consent of the governed. If you disagree with me, I will not argue with you. The passage of time will reveal whether I am correct.
To deny a mandate to the evildoers in both parties, I suggest that U.S. citizens who read this blog consider voting for the Constitution Party.
Both major parties have totally destroyed the US economy. Everything has been outsourced and off-shored… manufacturing, energy, services, information processing… the only thing left here is large-scale agribusiness, health care (with fewer and fewer US-born professionals) and corruption.
There is nothing left to base a recovery on.
Both parties have utterly betrayed the American people, and have hollowed out our economy to the extent that we can no longer defend ourselves. At the same time, both parties are headed by blustering egomaniacs who are intent on starting a senseless war with Russia.
I do not know whether I will resume blogging again. If I do, it will no longer be a political blog focused on the consequences of US and EU policies. This topic exposes me to too much temptation to the sin of despair.
God willing, I am making plans to leave the US and establish myself elsewhere. Should I achieve that goal, I never intend to return, not even to visit.

Readers are free to comment on this blog, subject to comment moderation.
We invite readers to participate and interact. Comments are moderated to exclude incoherent rambles, obscenity, inappropriate ad hominem attacks, commercial spam, and other material that would compromise the quality of this blog. We make an effort to attend to the comment moderation queue frequently, but the process does take some time. We ask that you be patient.
Blog moderation is not censorship.
This is our blog. Were we to allow inappropriate material to be posted, we would face the negative consequences.
We support your right to post what you want on your own blog, and to decide for yourself which comments you want to display on it. If you do not already have a blog, Blogger.com and WordPress.com offer blogs for free!
That said, please be advised of the following:
- 1389 Blog is not a bathroom wall! Comments containing incoherent or unreadable text or data, unjustified personal attacks, unfounded allegations, egregiously vulgar or abusive language, bigoted or racist remarks (especially anti-Semitic remarks), anything xxx-rated, or external links to such objectionable material, will be deleted. If you want your comment to be published, then please refrain from swearing, and express yourself in a civil and cogent manner. If we cannot figure out what you are talking about, we will not post your comment.
- We do not waste our readers’ time with trolls. If you come here merely to stir up enmity, or to heap contempt upon us, our readers, and our work, your comments will be deleted with no further explanation.
- Please make an effort to keep your comments on topic. This is not a general-interest discussion forum. If you wish to communicate with us about something not having to do with a specific blog post, please feel free to use this form. Comments that link to a site having nothing to do with the topic will be deleted and reported as spam.
- If your comment is not displayed immediately, please do not post it repeatedly. Duplicate or repetitive comments are treated as spam and will be deleted.
- Comments that raise complex questions or issues may be kept on hold to be answered later. Some issues deserve to be addressed in a separate blog post, rather than in a comment submerged deep within some other thread. It takes time to prepare such a reply. To display the comment without an answer during that time would make it look as though we were unable or unwilling to address difficult issues. The fact that a comment is held for future reply should not be taken to imply that the comment is being “rejected.” Check your email - we may contact you to let you know that a reply is on its way.
- Commenters are required to identify themselves in some manner. Your usual nickname, screen name, logon ID, or other identifier is just fine; you need not reveal your real name. You must enter an email address, which will not be displayed on the screen. We may use this address to contact you. However, if you enter an email address that is obviously invalid, we may delete your comment. If you wish, you may also enter a website URL.
- Never post anything that you wouldn’t want the entire world to see, perhaps many years from now! Comments are visible to the public without restriction, and, once posted, they remain online indefinitely. Copies of comment text may exist in places that none of us could possibly know about. This blog cannot be responsible for any unwelcome consequences.
- Comments that waste bandwidth or server resources, or that contain anything that interferes with the hosting provider, the blogging software, or other system users, will be deleted.
- Comments are for text, not pictures. If you want to post ASCII art or the like, please get your own blog. If a picture, video, audio file, program, or other non-text element is relevant to the subject matter of the blog post, you may upload the file elsewhere if need be, and post a link to it in your comment.
- Do not paste text directly into the comment box from a WYSIWYG editor, such as a word processor. This can introduce special formatting characters that the comment editor cannot accept. Instead, paste the text into a text-mode editor, such as Notepad, and then recopy and paste it again from there into the comment editor.
- Comments containing anything that violates, or appears to violate, U.S. law will be deleted and the authorities will be notified. This includes, but is not limited to, the following examples:
- Threats against the 1389 Blog team or anyone else.
- Material associated with fraud, malware, plagiarism, software piracy, child porn, or identity theft
- Material that violates anyone’s privacy or that reveals material not authorized for public viewing (with the exception of investigative reporting that is intended to expose wrongdoing)
- Material that promotes jihadism
- Links to external sites containing anything of the above nature.

- Finally, if you think you might be too drunk to comment, you are too drunk to comment!

October 13th, 2007 — Islam, Orthodox Christianity, 1389 Blog - Antijihadist Tech, 1389 Message Blog, Serbia, Kosovo, Europe

Ever wondered what 1389 is all about?
This question came up on October 13, 2007, in the Little Green Footballs: Saturday Afternoon Open thread, and I gave a brief answer there. Fellow Lizardoids followed with comments that added a broader perspective to my answer.

Why the rash of Houston-area school bus thefts?
A bizarre mystery that may be linked with plans for terror attacks on schools.

What happened in 1389?
#96 1389
re: #23 Ma Sands
1389 was the year of the Battle of Kosovo. The Serbian army, along with some allies, under the leadership of Prince Saint Lazar, knowing that they were about to die, sacrificed themselves to fight the Turkish invasion to a standstill. Their sacrifice prevented much of Europe from being overrun at that time. In their honor, I have chosen 1389 as my nom de guerre.
We are still fighting the same fight, but the weapons are more complex these days. 1389 Blog - Antijihadist Tech is a team blog, whose purpose is to offer hard-to-find news, along with Web 2.0 and tech savvy, to the antijihadist community.
I also have another, less formal, blog that offers links and notes that others can use for their own blogging; look for it here: 1389 Message Blog.

Many different battles over the years have stemmed the attacks of Muslims.
- 732 Battle of Poitiers
- 1529 Battle of Vienna
- 1683 Battle of Vienna
Good work. It is helpful for us to realize that since the 7th century, Western civilization has been under almost uninterrupted attack by Muslims.

Battle of Talas, 751. Chinese lost, but cost the Arabs enough to stop them there. As in Europe, Islam continued to spread, but as a trickle instead of a tsunami.

There were also the back and forth battles of the 1460’s — eventually the Prince of Wallachia, Vlad Tepes III, aka Dracula lost, as you can tell by the blood libels heaped upon history afterwards.

And also, one must wonder how Constantinople fell into the hands of the Turks. One definitely wonders. =)

Partly because help from Rome (Catholic Europe) depended on the Orthodox Church renouncing their “error” and recognizing the authority of the Pope.
And a Hungarian selling his new-fangled cannon to the Turks.
Politics, money and treachery. Nothing ever changes…
Well, yes, but there are always saints and heroes, then as now…

Stop Blog Censorship!
Let’s find out!
I got off the phone with SonicWall. They apparently think that “anti-war liberal scum” (this is in reference to what the anti-war creeps did to the wall) is hate.
Of course, http://www.dailykos.com/ is considered Web Communications. Can we say hypocrites??
I urge all of you to call them. The number is 1-888-557-6642. When the menu asks you to punch a number if you know the extension, hit the number they provide, then hit zero a few times.
The key word is “defamation,” as it is clear there are no rules as to who they block.
And this:

BTW, this is the first time that I’ve seen SonicWALL actually go to my web page. Never before has there been any indication that they have ever gone to my page.
And this:
I got p***** enough to call. The tech people look at my message board and don’t see any violence/racism/hate, but then they say there must be a reason why my sites are catergoized that way! Oh, yeah, and they claim that they don’t don’t take suggestions from third parties (hmmm, must be why they have that web page rating form on their site?)
Anyway, I am awaiting a return call.I urge all of you to call them. The number is 1-888-557-6642. When the menu asks you to punch a number if you know the extension, hit the number they provide, then hit zero a few times.
And on 9/22/07:
The only time I have seen SonicWALL at my web was when I **called**. So far no indication that they have ever been to my blog.
The envelope, please…
That was our answer! While we don’t know what methods SonicWALL is using to decide whether to blacklist a site, we do know one thing:

SonicWALL is not visiting the sites to check what’s actually there!
What a “professional” way to run a company!
What’s the real reason why Lady Predator’s sites are blacklisted?
We’ve blogged about this before (see Does SonicWALL actually look at the blogs they blacklist?)- but to make a long story short…
It’s all about “Reverend” Jim Sutter’s personal vendetta.
“Reverend” Jim Sutter is a self-ordained minister who has declared a one-man jihad against every source of antijihadist news and commentary that he can find, including Christian talk radio.
Lady Predator writes for a blog, Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter, that charges Sutter with using false complaints to censorware providers as a means of shutting down antijihadist blogs.
Sutter is doing the very same thing to Lady Predator and others, in an attempt to shut down every blogger who dares to reveal Sutter’s blog censorship activities! In other words, as we explained earlier, Sutter has manipulated censorware firms to get them to blacklist not only Exposing ‘Rev.’ Sutter, but also Lady Predator’s other domain names, including ladypredator.com and www.ladypredator.com.
How SonicWALL helps the enemies of America and the free world
Up to now, SonicWALL and other censorware vendors have been free to impose de facto worldwide censorship on the Internet, with scarcely anyone realizing what’s going on. (To learn more about how censorware works, see our earlier article, Tell Panera Bread and SonicWALL to Stop Censoring Foehammer’s Anvil!)
SonicWALL and other censorware firms are allowing political speech to be muzzled by malicious individuals and groups operating from anywhere in the world. Evidently, just about anybody can “game the system” by making a false complaint about any site they don’t like, and get the site blacklisted!
In effect, these censorware vendors are providing a “back door” that allows our enemies to interfere with our communications in order to keep everyone in the dark about jihadist activities.
It’s time to hold them accountable.
Just for starters: From time to time, we can continue to use this form to contact SonicWALL to check the status of these sites, and to tell SonicWALL to reclassify these sites as “news and media” or as “political advocacy”:

Follow the money, of course!
It’s time to look at who owns these companies, who else they do business with, where they got their venture capital, the political involvements of their board members, and so forth.

1389 Blog has been getting some strange visitors lately…

This chart shows the search phrases that people entered yesterday to get to 1389 Blog.
Here’s what happened: Someone entered the phrase “how to make remote pipe bombs” into Google or another search utility. 1389 Blog was included in the list of sites that came up, simply because we ran a news story about the Goose Creek “pipe bomb boys”. The person clicked on the link to get to 1389 Blog.
For the record, there are NO instructions on this blog for making remote pipe bombs or any other WMDs. I wonder whether this particular visitor became frustrated and decided to get back at us by falsely reporting 1389 Blog as a “hate site.”
In case you’re wondering, there is no hate speech on this blog. No trash talk. No incitement to violence. No mention of anything pertaining to racial issues. No ad hominem attacks. No bloody pictures. Comments are moderated, and we don’t even allow swear words. So if you’re looking for an excuse to ban this blog, you will find it only in your imagination.
So how can you find out who is visiting YOUR blog?
By running blog statistics and checking them regularly.
Where do I get blog statistics?
You’ll need to download a plugin, sign up for a web-based utility, or have your hosting provider set up a statistics utility if you want to gather statistics. Just for starters, try these. Follow the instructions at the websites:
- If you have a WordPress blog, whether it’s at WordPress.com or independently hosted, you can use the WordPress.com blog stats plugin.
- Anyone with a blog can sign up for Google Analytics.
- The free version of StatCounter lets you pinpoint the actual IP address for the most recent 500 page views. If this isn’t enough, you can upgrade to a larger log file size for a monthly fee.
How blog statistics can help you to improve your blog
There are other good reasons to run blog statistics.
For one thing, the only way you can build your audience is by trying different things on your blog, and then checking your statistics to see how readers react. You can see how many people are visiting, where they are coming from, which search phrases they used to get to your blog, which blog articles they are viewing, how long they are staying, what they are clicking, and so forth. If you don’t collect statistics, you’re just groping in the dark.
