Two British scandals: Sir Cliff Richard and Rotherham

In my opinion the 1960’s, 70’s and 80’s were among the best years ever for rock and pop music.

There was Elvis – and many who emulated his style: the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys and many, many others.

Cliff Richard

One such person who emulated Elvis was Cliff Richard. He was born Harry Rodger Webb in Lucknow, India, in 1940 – merely days apart from sharing the same birthdate as John Lennon. He was a huge hit in the UK, Europe, Australia, Israel and South Africa.

In the US, he is possibly known for his duet with the late Phil Everly:

I was a huge fan of his back in my teens. I still have every vinyl disc of his that I could afford to buy. I still listen to his music.

I even met him at the Australian Open many years ago as he is a huge fan of tennis. He was the perfect gentleman!

He never married. It was almost as if his song “Bachelor Boy”, from his movie “Summer Holiday”, was prophetic.

Like his contemporaries, Paul McCartney and Mick Jagger, Cliff was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, no doubt for his contribution to music, culture, charity and the British economy.

Right now Cliff’s “Wonderful Life” (a movie he made years ago, and sang the title song, but it was released under a different name also), has all gone horribly wrong.

Last year, September 2014, his home was raided by the police and filmed by the BBC for all to see. A telecast of a home raid!

Why did they do this?

“They had received a report of a sex attack on a teenage boy at a Christian rally in Sheffield almost three decades ago.

Now the pop star, who has denied the allegations, is determined to sell his Sunningdale apartment at the earliest opportunity. ‘He is putting the place on the market because he feels it has been violated by the search,’ said the friend. ‘He says he feels it’s akin to having your home ransacked by burglars.”

Investigations are ongoing as it now ‘seems’ there are three alleged victims.

It’s true. His privacy was violated.

He may even sue the BBC and the police: “No British citizen should have to watch their home being raided by the police live on television.” I hope he does.

Sir Cliff denies these 30 year-old allegations. Innocent until proven guilty is supposed to be the way things work in a democracy. He is still being hounded, and the issue is not resolved. Sir Cliff has been in limbo all this time and it is taking its toll. According to Express (UK): “Sir Cliff, 74, has endured eight months of a highly controversial police inquiry which was launched when detectives raided his Berkshire home while he was abroad.”

Please note: It is not my intention to praise or to condemn him and/or his lifestyle.

I was not motivated to write this because I am a fan of his either.

Eight months of this would surely drive any one insane, wear them down and make them distrust the justice system.

But wait: there is an even worse sex scandal going on in the UK and it has been going on for a long time.

I speak of the scandal of Rotherham.

“The data revealed a politically uncomfortable truth: the chief perpetrators of the abuse were men from the British Pakistani community.” That means part of the Muslim community. Child exploitation at its very worst. 1400 victims, maybe even more. Not three.

Rotherham is but the tip of the iceberg as far as Muslim gangs setting up young girls for gang-raping and sex slavery.

People who follow the world of Islamic atrocities are aware of this and have been for a very long time. It is truly astonishing that our own police forces and social services cannot even protect any citizen and this we see clearly in many countries in the West from Sweden to Australia! To list them all would almost take up a whole book!

So the point is this: we have the police hounding a highly admired and respected citizen of Great Britain over alleged abuse which occurred 30 years ago, and yet the scandals of Muslim gangs around the West, raping and abusing our citizens gets what exactly? Relatively zero punishment and zero publicity!!!

The way Sir Cliff is being treated is a scandal in itself. The injustice of it sickens me.

Oh, I forgot something!

Sir Cliff Richard is a white male, probably a 1%–er, and a Christian!!

Now it all makes sense!
